The A Series is mostly to blame.

Not surprising. Maybe Samsung felt like Apple and removed so many features without asking their customers. However Apple users locked into their eco-system had no choice but to stay with Apple. Samsung customers could move away or hold on their devices for a bit longer. If Samsung would have produced a phone with the features of the Note 9 (and wider flat display and fm-radio please) I would have probably bought 2 or 3 Samsung phones in the last 3 years. However with the current Samsung strategy I am still holding on to my Note 9 and hoping for better times...

Mir7aaa , 22 Jun 2022Because of its high budget. What do you mean about a high budget? Samsung has invested a lot of resources in supplies / their business so that they can profit from those investments.

Dilio, 22 Jun 2022It's because of their service. Bad service costs this.. What service / services are you referring to?

No audio jack A53 A73 failed reason A52s still alrounder

Samsung decided to cheap out and start cutting corners in their A53/A73 design, now they are paying the price. We all know that Chinese are cutting corners left and right, but when Sammy doing the same, it's their reputation. My bro wanted to upgrade his A51 to an A53 and I talked him out of it, Now he has the A52 5G and he couldn't be happier. Samsung better start offering heavy discounts on the A53 which has no headphone jack and runs on a slow chip for a higher price, Ppl are not stupid Samsung !

The Dodge, 22 Jun 2022I think Samsung's poor sales is the direct result of S... moreIt's very unlikely that Sony is interested with 8K, hence why the still stick with 12MP sensor. That said, they do keep improving the camera sensor. The telephoto sensor on the Xperia 1 Mk4 is a much-needed improvement over the one in the Xperia 1/5 Mk3.

Yuri84, 22 Jun 2022That's what removing headphone jack does to sales. ... moreWhy would you kid on that reality? Not everyone want to spend more on an already expensive phone in the first place. If Samsung or other brands really want to remove the headphone jack and the microSD card support on their phone, make sure to sell it cheap in the first place so that we can spend more on third party solutions. Simple as that.

No surprise since Samsung dropped the headphone jack for the A33, A53, and A73. Put it back on the A34, A54, and A74, and watch the profit rise up like crazy. Also, the A52/A52 5G/A52s 5G and A72 are still a solid buy in 2022.

P.S Imagine what would happen if Samsung give DeX support to A7x models. That'll be even more popular than the Galaxy S phones.

well - if there would be still headphone jack, full dual sim + sd and for high end modela flat screens I probably would have bought a few Samsungs during the last years... but if Samsung does not want my money I am still holding on to my old Note 9...

Most of the cheap Samsung phones have lost their reason for existence, I remember when the "a" series first came out, it sold out very well, including here in africa, but this new sets of devices are bad, good Phones but overpriced, and in nigeria, nobody is ready to spend huge amounts on such devices, we rather get an old flagship, especially from apple "The iPhone" or most of the times an old Samsung, all we are saying is go back to the formula, and you can win us back.

deewinc, 22 Jun 2022Seems you're new to the Samsung Galaxy Awesome Series ... moreThere's nothing wrong with "cheap plastic" when your phone is in a case.
There's something wrong with glass and metal which is in a case - you'd never know there was any kind of glass or metal, unless:
                              1. You look at the amount of money you paid.
                              2. You pulled the phone out of the case (moments before it fell and the glass shattered... thanks to having glass on every side).

I used S7 for more than 4 years. Did I enjoy the glass on the back or metal on sides? Yeah, for 3 seconds before putting it into a case. Thanks to the case the phone survived for many years without any repairs.
My wife's S7 survived FIVE years. Replaced with A52s, aka the last phone with a headphone jack.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022Does it matter?Uh, yes... that's the whole point. You can't get mad that a newer model of a lower product tier isn't as good as an older model of a higher product tier – that's like being annoyed that the Galaxy S22 isn't as good as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

That's what removing headphone jack does to sales.

Just kidding, there are, probably, lots of other reasons, not just re-releasing A52 as A53 without a headphone jack, A72 as A73 without headphone jack, and removing it in almost the entire lineup without introducing any kind of improvement, other than increasing the price and simplifying the components (aka making more money by re-releasing same phone with fewer features and expecting everyone to buy BUDS instead, spending even MORE money).

Maybe A54 (55/56/57) will have a jack again? I can only hope.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022I'd argue LG tvs out perform Samsung, for a lot less t... moreIf its just about screen manufacturing , you can check QD OLED from samsung, LG does not have anything close to it at the moment. The reason why samsung used to be so popular is because they had a good quality phones for every price bracket. but now they seem to be so convoluted and the premium quality og the alpha series was brought down to just awesome with cheap plastics. Still I think having good competition in the market is healthy for the consumer. Even if the exynos series is hot garbage its still good there are competitors for qualcomm, they messed up with the 888 because of its high temsp but now are again on track with sd 8+ gen 1, because of competition from samsung and mediatek. Still I hope they dont butcher teh A series any more and if they want to sell these, they atleast price it better.
