Samsung apparently has a huge stockpile of 50 million devices due to low demand

The A Series is mostly to blame.

Samsung Smartphones' prices are exorbitant. They love to loot their customers. Build quality and features can't demand such high prices.
In India, their customer service is so poor where they don't honor warranty claims. When my Samsung A51 went off due to display issues due to manufacturing defects, they didn't honor it and I had to pay Rs 7,000/- (approx US $ 100) to replace the display unit. I had taken up my issue with the highest authority and they replied it was my mistake. The Liquid Detection Indicator was intact and they rejected the warranty claim. That's Samsung for you. So please keep yourself away from such robbers.

Why people don't prefer Samsung mobiles ? Just because they are low config and very expensive, mid range processors but very expensive and poor design and cameras but very expensive. If you want high end procesor in Samsung then you got to shell very hefty money which is unnecessary expenditure. One Plus is premium in config and nominal cost than Samsung. I will never ever spend heft money on Samsung products.

Good job Samsung, maybe because you have a A series phone for every 50$ increase in price? also take out old models of production.

It's because they keep removing features from their phones. Higher prices and less features, don't equate to sales.

          1. The price to performance ratio just isn't there compared to other brands.
          2. No charger in box for both budget and mid ranger phones (wtf Samsung) You'd think that by removing the charger they'd make the phone's hardware more powerful or something, but nope. They're still overpriced for the hardware they offer. 30k for a A53 which gives a 7xx series chipset vs 30k for any other phone that gives a 8xx series chipset
          3. No headphone jack (why remove it from a mid ranger?! This isn't a flagship where you can tout the old excuse of "We're innovating with the hardware design inside the phone so we had no space to put in a 3.5 mm headphone jack."

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022Samsung is victim of rise of Chinese technology. Just like LgIt's not this.
OLED screens are very difficult to manufacture, especially in a miniaturised version for phones. There are many people out there who can do it, but only in a small-scale and laboratory controlled conditions, and certainly not affordably. Nokia used to have some capability in OLED displays, but this was usually on smaller screens with lower resolution. JDI had a brief spotlight, when they released the OLED on the PS Vita 1000-model back in 2011. Whilst, LG had some capability in early-2013, then in 2015, and became more proficient and successful in 2018. The true innovator has been Samsung.

For that reason Samsung basically HAD (keyword) a monopoly on the industry. From the first Samsung S1 and Note 1, to the late S8 and Note 8, if you wanted OLED then Samsung was the only supplier. LG got good, but not great, as the company wasn't financially happy and was looking to close their mobile phone division.

Then out of nowhere, BOE came. They started mass producing OLED displays like a money printer. The whole thing was dubious. Suddenly, buying a Samsung was no longer necessary. And in response, Samsung started selling their OLED displays to other phone manufacturers at reasonable prices. Their top-tier units went to their Note/S-lineup as well as the iPhone Pro/Max. Selling OLED to Apple is fine, iOS whilst an indirect competitor is a separate ecosystem and market.

What Samsung failed to do was to keep their Intellectual Property, and they failed to hold unto what made them unique. It was a management error. They should have made themselves the Apple of the Android Market; give less hardware and charge more money. And that requires delicate leadership.

I have used other brands too like apple, tecno, infinix and lot more but samsung is my favourite 😍

Stop overpricing low end phones and then you'll make sales, Samsung.

That's what you get when you are too greedy

A13, A23, A53...what did they expect? No charger in box!? It is NOT about environment, it is about greed!

Prices going up, until nobody buys anymore. Or there will be buy 1 get 1 free. See how waste is made? No regulation for this tho.
Makes me wonder how many phones per person is it now...

There are some people (especially in poor countries) that do not want to pay 300-500EUR for a phone. So, for those, they release also A0x, A1x or A2x models.
I mean, they could make one budget phone, one mid-range phone and 2 flagship phones. Plus Flip and Fold. But I am pretty sure many people will complain in this case too, because they will not have enough options anymore.

If anything, Samsung is one of the logical ones when releasing models. Even OnePlus has started spamming the market with tons of models and with weird names. Not to mention Xiaomi or Realme, who have their business model based exactly on this.

I mean, is not Sony or Apple, but still is not that bad in Samsung case. They stopped releasing Note series and from next year they will stop FE series too (at least according to a recent article on arena). So they have A series phone (budget and mid-range ones), M series phones (the same budget and mid-range; but not available in all markets like the A series) and S series phones for flagship. The Flip and Fold are kind of stand alone models, so it couldn't be placed exactly as a bad thing.

                                  I don't understand what's wrong with this?
