However, the reality is their profit is keep falling down which means something wrong with their products. Motorola had the same situation, it could be happened to SE. For me the first thing is beautiful design then the good features, I just do not want to see the ugly thing every time I answer my call.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2008Still cant figure out, why do people want audio chip even i... moreI agree. My so called 'King' Nokia N95 8GB takes a few seconds to open the music player, and sometimes it has "General: System Error' and has to be rebooted. How annoying it is when you are just trying to relax and listen to some music!
Sony Ericsson is THE pioneer for Music Phones.
As for now, no other phone companies come close to its Walkman series. In Sound AND Innovation.
I don't think they are moving backward with this model.

btw the complaints about missing standart audio jack are unjustified - the handsfree allows to plug in other headphones - just above microphone. smart thing that is.

Its actually very sad to see that Sony Ericsson is failing at delivering the best in cellphone technology. Nokia, Samsung and even that crappy company LG are delivering devices that atttract not only our attention but also our heard earned money. They cannot rely on their name to sell devices. People used to be ignorant when it came to cellphones, but not today. Camera alone cannot attract a potential customer, people want devices that can do everything (or at least something that sets its apart) even at entry level price points. I was a firm Sony Ericsson suporter, but not anymore. They just not as competitive as they used to be... Which leaves me to wonder... Will they ever take back their title of PIONEER???

There is a standard port at the end of the handsfree cable. If you can't realize that, you probably should think hard about your reasoning skills.
Also, how many people knew about the audio processor before they read online reviews? Let your ears be the judge. The Walkmans have pretty neat sound quality and that's a fact. For rock and metal anyways.

the fact of the matter is that this phone ain't really anything new but somehow its got newer problems like lack of sound chip, man i remember hearing that even the k800i had some dedicated hardware for sound output in earphones and whats the big deal with ports why can't they make life easier by using standard ports what SE fanboys gonna defend some dumb cause? standard ports and audio chip is good you id!ots, if this was a low end phone you have every right to say that but homie this is a 5mp shooter and i hav't heard of a low end 5mp shooter which means you gotta have everything to date and standard ports is common in phones these days

Ruben, 17 Jul 2008Good old mobile review - they are so biased against SE, I d... moreUmmm...it is called a Walkman phone...which means it should be a good music player. And I want to use my phone as my MP3 so that I don't need to carry multiple devices around.
"What are you supposed to do when you receive a call while listening to music on a Nokia device using your own headphones? Hold the phone to your face to speak into it. Not ideal, is it?"
If you own the remote, you just talk as normal. When the call is over, it goes back to your music. If you don't own the remote, you unplug your phones and talk, or take one side off your year and talk normally into the phone. Point is, on new Nokia S40 (regular) and S60 (smart) phones, you can plug in any headset. You can plug it into a home audio system even and it will sound great. I have found that the SE proprietary connector very easilly snaps off when I put it in my pocket too (like the old Nokia Pop-port)
"And SE's included headsets have the best included headsets in their class anyway! "
But I do not want an in-ear phone! I want to be able to choose my earphones.
"Is sound quality so poor in SE devices that it deserves to be shot down by Mobile review? "
Apparently yes. Don't forget that this phone's price is the same as a N82, which has GPS, Wifi, 5mpix autofocus, smartphone functionality, etc.
Annonymous wrote: "Still cant figure out, why do people want audio chip even if...Why do people need built-in 3.5mm audio socket even if you can stream music via BT HEADPH0NE??"
Without said chip, music quality and volume level will be low on all but smallest in-ear headset. BT Headphones are not for everyone...require seperate power source and VERY suceptable to EF interference.
I am not an audiophyle BTW. But I can hear a substantial quality difference between the SE and new Nokia phones.

Still cant figure out, why do people want audio chip even if.. SE Walkman series producing such incredibly sound experience? Why do people need built-in 3.5mm audio socket even if you can stream music via BT HEADPH0NE?? Why do people need 16million color in there lcd fone even if they cant see it that million colors!!! What a world is this?!

Still SE doesnt have a single phone that have specs of N82. Elder is justified. Look even Nokia is providing free GPS maps so no data cost. New designs are really ugly. I guess K810i was the last beautiful phone. If W960 had gps then it might be a big hit but when it was launched it was outdated on that price catagory. I am disappointed with SE but still not with Sony.

Can you show me another non smart OS that is just as easy to use, pleasing to the eye, stable, well laid out and isn't draining precious processor power? Updates are good. Updates for the sake of updates is plain retarded.

He's right with his criticism of Sony Ericsson though! The last innovative product they had was the K750! Everything since then has been an incremental update of this phone. It's unbelievable to think that 3+ years since the K750 came out, the best they can do is phones like the K850! How is that 3 years of progress?
People are sick and tired of SE pumping out the same phones in different shells. It's pathetic and no wonder they are losing market share so quickly - people are fed up and want something new that the competition is only too quick to offer them!
