Nvidia announces RTX 40-series graphics cards with DLSS 3 and 2-4x performance boost

20 September 2022
Prices start at $899.

[deleted post]I mean, most of these will go to gaming PC's. There are some who are graphic designers and game developers who need raw horsepower and tons of memory, but those are in minority compared to gamers.

The guy was asking about RTX 4080 12GB and 16GB thinking it was just memory capacity difference. And then you barge in again with your "logic" diarrhea and vomit and stink up the whole place by whining about irrelevant things and acting how smart you are. Just pi** off already.

      EDIT:
It was a typo you brick. Anyone with half of actual brain cell would know I was talking about RTX 4080 because RTX 4090 with 12GB or 16GB of VRAM doesn't even exist.

[deleted post]I love when people like you act like they are the smartest in the world and show they have no clue about any of it.

RTX 3000 series are significantly slower (at least per NVIDIA graphs anyway, we'll see after reviews), which already puts them into disadvantage to compete with new generation, meaning all NVIDIA has to do is just delay launch of RTX 4070, RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 series. Because those will compete with higher end models of last generation and NVIDIA doesn't want that if they want to sell out old stock of last generation cards. With those new models not existing and thus not competing with older RTX 3000, the older ones are still relevant and interesting for a lot of people who can't deal with higher prices of RTX 4000 series.

SShock, 21 Sep 2022Thing is, it's NOT just more memory. The 16GB version ... moreLmao what! 16 gb 4090 lol.
Anyways. More amount of compute unit and memory isn't much needed for any optimal gaming performance when the lower cards are already plenty of fast. According to your logic 4080 should be absurd in performance compared to 4090.
You surely don't know what you're talking about.

Samath N8 808 owner, 21 Sep 2022The 12GB RTX 4080 sounds sweet at $900. Extra $300 for just... moreThing is, it's NOT just more memory. The 16GB version of RTX 4090 also has significantly more CUDA cores as well as wider 256bit memory bus compared to 192bit memory bus on 12GB variant of it. If it was just memory, I'd just take 12GB model. I've had 11GB and 10GB in recent years and for my use at 1440p that was always plenty. But losing so many compute cores and memory bandwidth will always hurt performance pretty badly regardless if you need that much memory or not.

[deleted post]When it's about NVIDIA and somehow you manage to yet again whine about Apple. Talk about being a brain dead bot...

Why would scalpers scalp last generation? You scalp current generation which is more desirable and harder to obtain. You really have absolutely zero logic. Get a job in a retail computer shop or something so you learn the very most basic things about market and computers. Jeez.

Guys, am I missing a point here?

RTX 3090 Ti sold for $2000, but a "2-4x faster" card RTX 4090 is selling for $1599.

Older owners will burn the company down if this happens, is there a tradeoff somewhere I'm not seeing?

The 12GB RTX 4080 sounds sweet at $900. Extra $300 for just 12GB to 16GB memory bump, sounds a bit unreasonable.
Are there more differences between 12GB and 16GB editions?

want to run GTA 6 ultra graphics? I think Rockstar doesn't give this requirement recommendation, maybe GTX 1060 will suffice.

I use to be an avid PC Gamer back in the day use to love building gaming rigs when the top end graphic cards where relatively affordable, but these day's I just rather sit in front of my 65" 4K TV & play games on both the Xbox Series X & the Nintendo Switch, rather than spends thousands on building a PC to play mostly these days console ports that are usually poorly done.

I have a basic 11th gen i5 Acer Laptop for any PC stuff i need to do & it does the job.
