Tomy159, 10 Oct 2022Now little question Did is good upgrade from pixel 6 pro t... moreThere are some differences like a better, more flexible ultrawide (macro possibility), more flexible telephoto, possibly a better battery, much brighter screen for taking pictures on a sunny day, possibly much better noise handling in video / pictures taken with ultrawide, maybe even less lens flares etc.
I did go for the upgrade, even through I won't get the pre-order bonus (p.o. box address), because of the camera and I will give my P6Pro to my father as a Realme 6 replacement - he will like the camera and much better speakers on a Pixel (will miss the jack through, I have to get some cheapo USB DAC for him).

    Where is the hot take that apple lacks innovation?

      Hot take is this biased article. Like every other smartphone OEM doesn't do that for years, but Google takes the most heat 🤦‍♂️

            There is no room for a foldable pixel with the current prices. let them wait until go below 900

              Lack of innovation is there. Other saddening factor is that even with seventh iteration of Pixels, the software updates is still only three years. Shows Google's sincerity.

                I agree with lack of innovation but why these devices deserve a separate article about it while others been doing same shitt and no such treatment?

Biggest issue is screen ration. U can't consume any video content over there. Anything on Insta become crop out version of reels and pics. I literally had to close the fold to see the full photo on outer screen because the inner one was cropped out. Same with netflix either its cropping the video or you are wasting about 40% screen real estate. unless it's rollable phone or they have better screen ratio. They are not usable.

                            There is nothing compelling about the current crop of folding phones for the vast majority of users. They are clunky and have limited benefits. The LG prototype that appeared a while ago was more interesting if it worked. But right now, Google should focus on making the best phone they can, and leave foldables to Samsung, and to the Chinese brands that offer no support and thus have little to lose.

                                    I agree that they lack innovation but you, the author, should have followed up with "but tries to make up the software/hardware misses of the 6 series". I, as a current Xperia owner, strongly agree with Google not pushing too far forward to make sure there work out the kinks of the new Tensor chip to ensure it's under control before going nuts.

                                    The Watch does feel like Google grabbed any internals they could get their hands on and rolled with it. Should have been, at MAX, $250 considering the chipset.

                                    I'm calling it now, next May, we will see the Pixel Fold with Tensor 2 alongside announcements of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 (hopefully with LDAC support this time around since the Pixel 6 even supports it) and TWO new chipsets; a Tensor M which would be a revamped Exynos 1090 with new-ish modem (for Pixel 7a) and a Tensor watch Chipset for the Pixel Watch 2 with much better connectivity and battery life (hopefully 72 hours minimum).

                                      ChromeOS can install PWAs from ANYWHERE.
                                      ChromeOS can install Android Apps from Google Play and ANYWHERE.
                                      ChromeOS can install Linux apps from ANYWHERE.

                                      iOS can install apps from the App store. iOS can install PWAs if they are offered, but only via Safari. If you don't mind being annoyed you can install stuff from the AltStore. All browsers on iOS run the Safari engine. They are just skins of Safari. That's how little choice in software iOS provides. There is no comparison to the software freedom you have with ChromeOS.
