Early MediaTek Dimensity 9200 test on AnTuTu shows an impressive generational improvement

The Dimensity 9000 was the first to post a score of 1 million points, the 9200 will surpass it with a Cortex-X3 CPU core and Immortalis-G715 GPU.

You did! Again and again and again on each Mediatek news!
I said if you want to judge OpenGL capabilities or GPU, you have to use...an OpenGL Benchmark! Simple and clear as you use a thermometer to mesure temperature!
Your benchmark provide good results, your OpenGL driver is fine...

One funny thing is GFXBench Render Quality is better on Mali! Drivers are more accurate! Ohhh...nearly no tests show that kind of results!
I give you some results :
- Honor X7 (Snap 870) : Render Quality 2510/Render Quality High Precision 3636.
- Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 (Kompanio 1300T - kind of modified Dimensity 1100 with higher frequency, external screen and higher resolution support) : 3271/3636
It seems by-passing is heavier on Adreno!

Independant developers works on Adreno is older than the one on Mali...developers are more confortable with Adreno...it's true
Because :
- some heritage come from Radeon's developement when Qualcomm bought AMD's mobile division (Adreno is anagram of Radeon)
- market share at the beginning of Android was trusted by Qualcomm...partly due to unfair behavior on CDMA licences and later on LTE licences
- EU/US flagships are Qualcomm's based
- Mediatek's were used mostly on devices on Chinese unknown brands only available in China. These brands never released sources. Fortunately this situation change! I think Redmi Note 8 Pro (september 2019 released) was one device that change the way people see Mediatek
- Unisoc's based devices were and are still rare.
- reviewers spends their time trolling Exynos...and still protect Qualcomm (lack of AV1 support deserve mediatic assassination, it's purely programmed obsolescence, paying trip to Hawaii seems to be usefull! ...should be the same with Apple!)

Result is Mali/Mediatek's developers community have about a 3 years experience...
When Qualcomm's have about 10 years...
It impacts community size and skills.

      Hemedans, 27 Oct 2022You have soirce for A715 only review/benchmarks? According to ARM, the A715 is 20% more power efficient than the A710 at the same performance or it can deliver 5% more performance for the same power usage on the same node.

      SD 8 Gen 2 has 2 A710s and 2 A715, imagine the power saving improvements with all 4 of them as A715.

        Also antutu score involve Gpu, Cpu, Ui, bandwidth etc.

        cortex X2 is better than X1 but A710 are inferior to A78 so it make sense for Multicore to be around same or small advantage to sd 8 gen 1.

        D9000 and Sd 8+ Gen 1 they have high frequency advantage in middle cluster of A710 + node advantage even in Geekbench you can see Multicore is much better than 888.

On all of the other benchmarks, we obtain an increase of between 15 and 20% (this corresponds to the figures announced by Qualcomm). Antutu is much more reliable for comparing the two platforms and it shows when comparing the 2 platforms with each other on large applications. We are far from the 40% difference in performance

                So you accept Tegra is bettter than Adreno (due to software and not hardware) but as same time you dont want to Admit Adreno is better in same thing vs Mali. Adreno is also Old ( came from Radeon team and licence Amd patents) it has mature softwares which are miles better than Arm.

                Like pc Nvidia better than Amd and Amd better than intel when it come to drivers subtitute Amd with Adreno and Mali with intel same thing is happening in mobile.

Ps1 classic which was anounced recently is just normal hardware with PCSX emulator inside.

                      AnTuTu scores are pretty useless if you're not a mobile gamer because the GPU is such a huge portion of it.

To change them is why you need unlocked bootloader, (without relying on updates from oem)but thanks to qualcomm tools you can package drivers in the apk itself and use them just for that apk. Just look it up. You have really no idea, do you?

                                2 reputable developers? The same who say there's no sources for custom Rom on Mediatek's? When you need a couple of minutes to find most on Github?
                                Emulators are based on low level developement. It's very hard...tweaks you used on Adreno aren't the same you use on Mali...aren't the same you use on GeForce.
                                If same problems are on every emulator it's a matter of knowledge on Mali's low level.

                                3 3D APIs are OpenGL, OpenGLES, Vulkan...all exist on Mali...even DirectX exists on Mali...tons of games use OpenGLES or Vulkan...if some have problems I would like to have a list! No problem on games, no problem on drivers! Simple!

                                4 Tegra...based on GeForce, emulators, GPU's low level works exists since 20 years...tweaks on PC's GeForce are close to Tegra's GeForce...community is huge and old. And you're surprise some emulators works on Shield before they work properly on Adreno? I'm not...
                                Billion dollars company won't develope emulators...because it's violation of a propriatary source code and it's basically piracy...
                                Emulators is a matter of independant developers...you've got a community, developement evolved. You've got 20 years of developement on GeForce, maybe 10 on Adreno and about 3 on Mali...in 3 years some emulators versions multiply framerates by 3, even on non updated devices...without your standard OpenGL/Vulkan changed as they are part of the system!

                                Emulation is a mater of GPU's low level tweaks that require huge skills...and as it is low level, it's very different according to hardware!
                                Drivers or API are the link between software and hardware...it allows developers to make games without taking cares of the hardware. Games use OpenGL or Vulkan for that!

                                    OpenGl or Vulkan API work fine on Mediatek! That's a fact! Is that that difficult to understand!

                                    What you call "drivers" is more or less what I discribe :
                                    Consoles propriatary 3D API translation able to work on smartphones. It requires low level hardware tweaks related to your GPU.
                                    It's a kind of Addon to your emulator...some developers make some for Adreno and not for Mali! That's all!
                                    It's nothing standard!
                                    True propriatary console's drivers work on the the related console hardware.
                                    As it is propriatary, Qualcomm or ARM can't provide that kind of code! It's violation!
