Korean sources claim the brand image is part of the reason.

Maybe a little of it has to do with phones are "good enough" along with the insane high prices, the global recession...people would rather pay their mortgage/rent, food, utilities than splurge on a new overpriced phone.

I bet it will! by bitter Android boys, i mean they have done it already countless times, for others it’s just feature among others 😁

Also you forgot word innovation, that’s what these Android boys also screams.

No one is going to ever buy a $1000 phone only to squeeze and twist it around in weird ways. It's one of those features that generate a bit of a stir but are mostly pointless, for example the palm ID or something to unlock phone. It was done by lg perhaps but they quickly dropped it after on

iphones have the same design since iphone 11 and they still sell a lot. if you keep the same design then it becomes a signature of the brand. whenever you see that iphone camera island you know it is apple, it is like a status symbol. anyways, people will always buy iphones since they are the most overpriced while having just average functions and nothing special that makes them better than other brands (a little bit faster cpu is all what they have, but who cares about that one? you don't even notice the difference, the disadvantages are much larger as the software is isolated from the rest of the world since common capabilities like third party app installation, developer options and transparency are missing or in short: the customer has no control over what the device is doing and is not allowed to change anything).

SamsungUser, 27 Dec 2022My friend owns a retail outlet that sells phones and he gav... moreExactly. I'm no iPhone fan but if all the android phones are going to keep removing features like iPhone and charge ridiculous prices like iPhone you might as well just get an iPhone. The problem is companies would rather lose money than admit they were wrong. Look at Nokia, LG, HTC etc. They all were either charging to much and/or removing features but instead of addressing the problem they just gave up altogether

"Samsung might lose its premium image abroad, as the best-selling model was the super affordable Galaxy A12"

In the previous years the A5x was Samsung's biggest seller but since they nerfed it starting with the crappy A53 people seem to have abandoned it and gone lower down the market.

Also foldable sales were always going to decline since they're a gimmick and no real person actually wants one. Makers will abandon them in 2 years

I upgrade to an international A51 which had the worse coin style vibrator I ever had in any electronic device (especially when it's for keyboard vibration). It had quarterly updates and now they threw it to bi-annual.

I upgraded to an International A52s and the coin vibrator is so much better. It has Monthly updates. Vibrator is not as "HD" as the A50 but it is more powerful.

I used to be an IOS user but I switched because the Android phone had things that the Apple phone didn't. It has a removable battery and expandable storage with the freedom of Android back then. Now Android is more locked down and many of those hardware features are gone. Nowadays it's just gimmicks that reduce the durability of the device. It doesn't add anything most of the time.

Google Pixel phones are giving Samsung a run for its money this year. While I still recommend Samsung to anyone still interested in Android it’s starting to become harder when their premium models are $1100-$1800.

The last time I ever wanted a flagship was the Galaxy S7. After that, I lost interest after the S20 was released.

With all the bonuses and all, I got it for 800 EUR with a broken device trade in (A nokia 3410 that was in a drawer 😂), yet I still use my Note10+ at this day because it's slimmer and the feel in had are better on the Note10+. But the camera on S22u are way better, the curvature of the screen a little bit better but ... A curved screen with a S pen, Samsung, really ?? Perfect for drawing and making curved lines, yeah ... I really hope they'll change that. I have waited 2 year to purchase another Samsung and the S23U isn't a match for me given the few incremental update, time to go eslewere I think.

Don't even get me started on the S22 128 Go with 8 Gb of ram when the Note10+ had 12 from the start 😂
