I don't really care about the screen size. What matter for me is the screen width.
Currently phones get tall but the width shrinking. Some may say that we can see more but in reality we need to look closer because everything is super small.

A few years ago I used a Mi Note 2 with a screen size of 5.7" and screen width of 7.1cm. Now I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro with 6.67" size and 6.95cm width. It's only 1.5mm but I see and feel how much my user experience changed.

My next phone will definitely have at last a 7.1cm wide screen.

Kangal, 15 Jan 2023We all know how biased the regular polls can be... ...so c... moreDisplay width: around 75mm
      Aspect ratio: 19:9
      Resolution: 1440p
      Refresh rate: atleast 120 hz
Display shape: flat with square corners or something like S22 ultra but without the curved screen
Bezel size: something like the S22+, smallest bezels i've seen so far
Design: curved back and rounded edges, something like the older iPhones before the flat nonsense that became since the 12
      Storage: atleast 512 gb
      Ram: atleast 12 gb
      Storage type: Ufs 3.1
      Headphone jack: yes
      Sd card: yes
      Speaker position: bottom right
      Charging speed: atleast 65w

That would be my ideal phone. Too bad it doesn't exist so i have to put up with the cloest i can find

people want smaller screens yet you still see chinese manufacturers release beg phones every month as if there weren't full of them already

GOD, 15 Jan 2023The only size screen to have is 6" to ideally have . (... moreSo you want me to carry a tablet around town?
I would rather carry one device for all my usages, not multiple and then worry about their individuals batterys and features.

For me, the ideal would be a 6" phone with no compromise camera.
Something like the Pixel 5 body with Pixel 7 Pro camera.

I dislike how screen size in inches doesn't mean anything anymore because of all the different ratios. In the past it used to mean only 16:9 but now it's misleading because a 6.5" 21:9 Xperia will actually be smaller than a 6.5" 19:5:9 phone for example.

Lead2XL, 15 Jan 2023I used to love Xiaomi high end phones but never again. Not ... morethe xiaomi 13 has a perfect body, same as the iphone

I like big screen phones, first it allows me to type better on the keyboard since my fingers are large and i can watch more stuff on the screen!
Only downside is that sometimes it can't fit on my pocket but thats fixable.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2023Exactly man. The mini failed because of price and not the s... moreActually, iPhone mini failed because of price AND it was small. People got used to bigger. The small phone crowd are vocal online but are very few out in the real world. I'm part of that vocal niche crowd.

My ideal isn't screen size but dimensions. I'll go old school like circa 2010-2011. The best for one-hand feeling are....

                    BlackBerry Bold 9900
                    Apple iPhone 4/4S
                    Google Nexus One

I still own the Bold and 4S and it makes me miss the good ol' days. They're a dream to hold but a nightmare to use. The 4S isn't so bad if used for mostly music, podcasts, a few games, and light browsing.

I can adjust pretty much to any size since I own phones ranging from an iPhone 4S to Z Flip 3 which is 166+ mm in height when unfolded or taller than a Pixel 7 Pro but also narrower and lighter. A weather widget and Nova Launcher makes it easier to place apps lower for my thumb to reach the top corners.

My next phone is going to be YUUUUGE: Unihertz Tank. It's basically a 22,000 mAh power bank acting like a smartphone. Can't beat 40-hours SOT and nearly 100 days of standby. If I'm going to go big, I might as well go for ones with the longest battery life. Tired of charging all my smaller phones daily.

I always got for as big a screen size as possible. Back in the day I had 6.4" phones in 16:9 ratio which were monster! I don't look at anything under 6.5" now.

The XZ1-C is a legendary phone. Perhaps the last true small phone they made because the later ones increased the screen size and weren't as appealing in shape. I tried to import that phone but there are high local taxes in my region, so had to cancel it

I'm simply not interested in any smartphone bigger than 6.1". That's the max limit or 155mm in length. Even that is too much for using a smartphone comfortably with one hand.
