Even if Google has gradually kiddie-fied Android down to Apple levels.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2023Custom ROMs, customization, Linux base, etc.Custom roms... The average user doesn't know how to change their ringtone let alone know what custom roms are
Those who use them are in the extremely small minority

The only reason i buy Android phones is because of the freedom
But if they start restricting it, it's goodbye. iPhones are already better than Androids in pretty much everything else including being faster and having a better camera

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2023Surely bounce scroll can be individually disabled in Android 14.It's a funny animation so I'll keep it.

New iPhone features = old features from Android 4-7 years before.

New features from newest stock Android version = Samsung features 1-3 years before

New samsung features = features from Samsung official Good Lock apps 1-2 years before.

Thank to Samsung especially the Good Lock team 👍

I never experienced this problem, simple swipe up from the middle to see recent apps or back to home. I also have another option by using double back-tap feature to see recent apps.👍

I have a question about Android 13. I'm using swipe gestures without hints to navigate my phone. When I am in a full screen app like CODM, I cannot exit the game. How do I exit the game without having to slide the status bar, clicking on settings and then being able to close the game from where you see all the opened apps .
If you don't use gesture hints, you can't swipe from the middle of the display to access the buttons.
                Any clue ?

Narazumono, 09 Feb 2023The only thing that's "limited" on ios is no... moreStill many differences. It isn't all about sideloading. Customization. Compatibility. Ability to open everything. Many many more. As for sideloading you will be able to do it but you won't be able to sideload old apps. But what's the point to sideload an app created for android 5 to android 14? No reason to do it. It is bad both for security and stability. Imagine installing a really old game in windows 11. You can do it but most likely it won't run well.

There would have to be replacement before people would stop buying it, which can't be done as quick as posting comment on GSMA. Other existing OS/OEM are not convenient for all. Such "apple direction" development would either be accepted by majority as a trend, or it would force OS/OEM changes, which of course applies to Google themselves as well.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2023This is the first time I read that APK on iOS 😳 WTF is this?! 😳He does not understand the difference between apps. He thinks apk is the standard for every mobile system, most probably. I've seen peeps down-rating apps because they could not install them on iOS, they we're trying to install apk's... Being d.a.f. and understand 0 stuff about tech are some of the perks of being an apple user.

AnonD-454049, 10 Feb 2023windows phone died precisely because it couldn't compe... moreActually, it died more or less because of microsoft, it was growing before microsoft made windows 10 and with it, killed all previous windows phones as they we're not supported. Microsoft did that with windows phone 8 release too. With it they also gathered some hate from developers, and some nasty critic from Enterprise users. Actually ms killed nokia mobile intentionally and then they killed their mobile business all together, unintentionally.
So did windows phone died because of android or ios? Not even close, it was waaaaaay more polished then android is now and had an UI that crossed above every app, so it was consistant and fast, really fast even with a 1 core CPU. iOS does not enter discusion cause here we enter fanatic teritorium. People that buy apple, will buy apple even if it would be the worst thing remaind.
