Flagship buyers mostly don't care about lack of those so unlikely that those features will return on high- end phones again. In fact, portless or at least button less phones will be the future

I wonder if they will stick to USB 2 on pro models as well. When iPad Pro with lightning came out half a decade ago, it used a faster USB standard. Apple never gave it to iPhones so I wonder if they ever plan to do it.

Fast charging works but the fastest charging is limited to each brand's proprietary cable because only that proprietary cable can handle the fastest charging safety as that's their own tech. You're just making things up.
