Apple apparently plans to limit iPhone USB-C functionality

10 February 2023
Accessories not made by Apple and not in the "Made for iPhone" program could trigger warnings.

Apple knows how to professionally feed its fans with crap

I don't mind switching over to wireless for charging, but for large file transfer it's a complete nightmare.

Eu should enforce another law about implementing actual usb c and it's full capabilities
So apple won't be able to give us this imposter usb port

Oh Apple, always trying to be exclusive. When will they snap out of this mindset for stuff that doesn't even matter.

                So slow

If this article had said "apple is allowing equal opportunity to it's type c ports and is not trying in anyway to be shady"

Then I would have to set an appointment to the doctor's office

So it looks like I'm healthy and still living in the real world

rRadD, 11 Feb 2023This isn't new!!!!! Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei do the ... moreThe difference is that their Turbo Charging requires proprietary cables for it to work, otherwise it won't be activated because it may be missing some components needed for it to work, which can only be found in the respective manufacturers' cables. The rest of the functionality of USB-C would still work, such as transferring files, connecting via HDMI, play audio, etc.

Apple, on the other hand, would most certainly forbid everything unless it's Apple-certified. Imagine being in an emergency and your phone ran out of juice, then this stupid "This accessory is not supported" pops up and stops you from charging the phone. It's almost as if your phone is like your picky wife/girlfriend. Anyway, I certainly want a phone which allows me to be more productive than limits me to what I could do. The phone should be working to make my life easier, not fighting me in doing what I have to do with the phone that I completely paid for myself.

Who is using wired charging these days anyway? They could propably remove the port entirely whatsoever and no one would really shed any tears.

This isn't new!!!!! Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei do the same thing too (I have these phones -- so gtfo bitter people -- not sure with the other brands). If you use a non supported Xiaomi charger/cable, for example, the turbo charge will not be activated, it will just tell you "Quick Charge". The only difference is, there's no pop up notification that will tell you you're using a non supported accessories. Good job Apple in aggravating those android users who mock you. LOL

Of course Apple do that since they make tonnes of money from their "Made for iPhone" program. So much for universal compatibility.

If no one stop Apple , Samsung and other Chinese company will do the same things .

This is why I’m leaving the Apple ecosystem and moving over to Android. Goodbye Apple!!

Cause of this greedy policy i abandon their products. To many limitations, to expensive. They don't respect their customers. Its like cage versus sky compared to Android. Thanks but no thanks Apple.
