Tigolebitties, 11 Feb 2023Wireless charging is waaaaay slower and impractical though.... moreTrue, but it's convenient to have if you can't find your cables. The knock on wireless charging is heat. That's why it's slow. And it's still generating heat even if it's charging slow. Wired fast charging isn't exactly good for battery health either.

While I understand control and consistency which makes Apple's features work reliably as a result and usually not on other phones, it's annoying and unnecessary because they'll do things intentionally just for you to spend extra on certified Apple cables which defeats the whole point of using USB-C then. Point of USB-C is wide usability resulting in compatibility between all devices and ultimately less waste in the end. Instead Apple wants to make more waste by making USB-C cables less compatible with their devices. Which goes entirely against their whole "we're eco friendly and sustainable" shtick. Just like removal of charger and then leaving a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, damn well knowing most people at the time didn't have ANY chargers with USB-C output. Hell, I still don't have one to this day. All my chargers have USB-A outputs.

If Apple does this, they should be banned. Their practices are just awful.

What about all the accessories that you have for other usb c devices? Apple doesn't give a fck about the environment 🤣

even Type-C 2.0 android is more useful than 3.2 iPhone. I already expected this.

Quattroking, 11 Feb 2023So all of my currently working and great USB-C cables that ... moreI think, Apple will say that they do this to keep the battery healthy as long as possible and make the consumer safe. But, I think, Apple is a "sensitive baby" in terms of being paired with non-MFI accessories. Like, their products only want something that is specifically made for them or their batteryies will degrade faster or even easier to explode. Yeah, I hope EU regulators will successfully force them to make the USB C ports on their products as the universal one.

Can we just admit that Apple is just as, if not more, evil than every other tech company? I don't think that any company is more abusive to it's paying customers. After all, at least Google, Facebook, etc., have the excuse that their users are not actually their customers--and it's obvious that the advertisers would never put up with this kind of crap.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2023So how are you going to unbrick your phone if it goes haywire?Probably by praying to Apple Gods, or through telekinesis/brainpower.

So all of my currently working and great USB-C cables that I have for my Galaxy Z Fold4 and other stuffs, will suddenly not work with an iPhone with USB-C, just because Apple is hungry for money again and gives a flying f**c about the consumers, just because Apple thinks the money is more important than what consumers sees as a good product?

This goes totally against what EU says about having USB-C that works universally on everything. So I bet EU will go against Apple on this very fast if Apple even thinks about doing it.

Oh also, did someone say Apple is eco-friendly?

Not gonna bite on that HUGE lie if Apple does this with the USB-C port.

This is why I will never buy an Apple product. I would feel extremely bad for supporting an extremely greedy company that is making the life harder with it's products over making it easier for peoples, just because of the money greed.

And I don't even know why peoples are buying them self into this kind of crap?

The future is wireless. Ports and buttons will soon be things of past

EU still has plenty of time to ban that too
