Qualcomm schedules March 17 event, new Snapdragon 7 chipset incoming

We are not sure whether the name will be Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or will skip to Gen 2.

1)Qualcomm makes a potent chipset that dominates 2)Qualcomm gets complacent and greedy and makes lame chipset
3) mediatek takes advantage and makes a powerful chipset that dominates
4) Qualcomm feels some pressure and then wakes up
5)repeat step 1

    Well well well this is a massive surprise looks like Qualcomm is serious about the 7 series now

            The latter might come with 8+ Gen 1.

Also S8g1 uses 8.6 watts at 3600 Geekbench multicore, 5.8 watts on the S8+g1, 4.4 watts on S8g2 and 3.3 watts on A16 bionic.. The TSMC N4 node is aroud 45%+- more efficient then Samsung 5LPE.

Most people dont realise how much Arm design is to blame here. You can forgive X core using more power but A710 and A510 use lot of power too, Core which were supposes to do day to day task they became so power hungry.

                      Geekbench scores are already available: 1200+ and 4000+. The Realme gt neo5 se and Redmi note 12t will be the first two phones with the chip

                          It is 8+g1 downclocked. Not new chip.

                            The midrange market is going to be on fire with this! If TSMC makes this thing, if Samsung does this, we'll have another heater in the market A710🤣

                              There's literally just ONE phone available with 7G1 right now, and that's the Xiaomi 13 Lite...

                              Even the GSMA review of the 13 Lite states that the 7G1 is just a slight upgrade over the 778G at best, despite the 7G1 using newer architecture cores.

                              Here's hoping that the 7G2 turns out to be better than 7G1 (which is very likely given the specs on paper)...

                                -Oppo find X5 108H with 15H browsing and 20H video playback
                                -vivo Iqoo 9 105H with 14H browsing and 15h video playback with just 4350mah.

                                And you are right it has good battery life because of underclocking (Throtling), but we saw same things happen to sd 8+ gen 1 and sd 8 gen 2, All phones i saw (exclude Xiaomi 13 series) have been throttled a lot, so same trick used in that realme Gt 2 has been used in all Flagship nowadays.

                                  Hardly any phones with sd7 gen 1 available, cause the soc's are very expensive, and it's not worth it...

                                    Hemedans, 10 Mar 2023I did point it out before, when sd 888 and 8 gen 1 come out... moreDude, I can confirm that Realme GT 2 was the only phone with SD888 without having any heating issues, because it was underclocked. Real life battery performance was still poor though bcz of not much optimisation by realme. That was the only reason I skipped it. Some people were still complaining about high temperature, but that was realme fault and after reinstalling a setting feature update manually, users were able to fix it.
                                    Other than that, I could not find even a single phone out there which was not suffering from 888 or 888+ heating issues.
