When someone mentions a Sony smartphone, I immediately think three things:
Excellent hardware and design
Horrible camera performance
No software updates
After all these years their cameras are still awful at taking pictures. Pretty much every single other flagship beats it. Even mid range Pixels best it. They need to replace the camera team completely, they don't know what they're doing.
And if that's not enough, you get two measly software updates. For the prices they are charging, they should be providing 5, at least.
Sony can continue making smartphones but unless they fix their cameras and software updates, they will also continue barely selling any of them. Camera, software and screen are the most important parts nowadays. Sony fails at two out of three.

I am not going to respond to any tagged reply to my post save by saying there seems to be a lot of trolls that have nothing meaningful to say, the puerile one point aspect conveyed have nothing to do with it the article, i.e Mon sequitur.
I might might accept the fact that Sony do indeed sell less phones than Samsung, but no evidence has been provided. Adding a feature that works is actually quite smart, Copy good, omission bad.
Some years ago Samsung Galaxy Notes version I forget were exploding when charging, reason too little space around battery did not allow for expansion, FYI batteries heat up yada yada yada.
In conclusion slowing down is a good idea, "what if we are accused of copying?'. Is not a response I am sure did not happen
Also the number one Nokia fan is of course Apple. When Sony Nokia were making Smartphones the opposite of smartphone is actually feature phone, dumb is probably heard somewhere, multiple times.
IoS is a Nokia licensed software, Apple did not come along and invent a whole new OS from scratch, many of the features are were patented by Nokia
Ther are a few Asian firms that have lost cases in European Court because they have used Nokia Patents procedures but refused to pay
In that regard the sheer number of companies and to the sales volume especially in Asia India must have prevented Apple from its need to increase iPhone prices
Preamble over let's get to me and my thoughts
Stuck in the middle of a phone contract, and 12 monthSim Only Contract, in the space of a month both phones gone (read my next post on another article)
At the end of my contract I was looking at the S23 Ultra, just by chance the Rog 7 ( I just love this phones image)
Finally the 1 V

I wouldn't be looking at phones now except I needed to and replaced two phones
All three phones have great reviews written, the Rog 7 minor flaw camera, not a gamer myself but want the best phone I can purchase at the time
The 1 V was the last phone I read up on and the only Sony I looked at. The review stated Sony kept the 3.5 mm jack and memory expansion
So great that Sony will continue and hopefully get a bigger foot hold.
Why does this phone have the edge it has or uses the same hardware as the other two. Credit 3.5mm Audi memory expansion supporting ITb, it also it lighter
It's not Sony is better because it has kept features, these features are more of a deal breaker to some than others, but if all you have to do is insert a memory card fine
The price is exorbitant not quite Galaxy Fold prices but up there, living in the real world I need this to fall
Idk if memory expansion was removed to improve benchmarks figures if so this is unusable time saved.
Just because A sells more phones than B is not a reason for me to buy a phone or you to restate it.

Sure they would, but they gotta improve their software and security policy to at least 3 year software updates and 4 year security updates if they want to cater towards the pro users.
