They should have provided a headphone jack. It's unfortunate that a company claiming to be eco-friendly is not providing a headphone jack.

Fairphone avoids using materials comming from conflict zones, child labor, slavery, as much as possible, they have a lot of transparency and tell every story, but is easier to ignore and scream here the zero understanding and knowledge about it, then to research, right?
As for wages, if they would come back in europe for manufacturing, the phone would be over 1000 euros, because of taxes/ way higher wages and taxes for every wage they need to give out. That would mean, a shot in the foot, especially when 80% of the population thinks like you. Oh, you tought you're special? Fair wage does not mean being billionaire in China with european wages, it means to have a wage in china (or in europe) that is actually high enough to live a balanced life, a good life. Also everytime a Fairphone is sold, the manufacturing workes are paid a little reward. So it is a very valid point and it is a nice response to consumerism and those who think only at themselves and buy disposibles, complaining about how their wages are small and everything is overpriced, while supporting this very behaviour in a vicious circle of ignorance, lust for more, lust for cheap.

Hhmmm, This may be my next smartphone purchase once my current Samsung phones gives up. 5-yrs warranty and 10 yrs software support. Also modular, and upgradeable parts like next gen-board with latest CPU ?

And lots of Iphone 14 Pro Max/S23 Ultra users out there (not reading gsmarena) have use cases that can be satisfied with midrangers.

And here's a shocking thing: Wireless lovers can also use TWS on smartphones with a headphone jack. Imagine thinking that a 3.5mm hole is stopping you from using bluetooth headsets. 😅

Now companies are supposed exiting China for "principles" when all they wanted was cheaper labor.
Bad news for them as it will take decades to replicate what they are leaving behind in China. India and Vietnam can only dream.
