how is xiaomi sponsoring conflict? all they want to do is make money, it's not like they are paying that country. the only ones who are punished are finnish consumers. it won't affect that country one bit.

Hilarious considering both Samsung and Apple still do business in Russia. They may have reduced their operations but both companies are still active in Russia. #westernlogic

Calling Xiaomi sponsor of war for doing business in Russia is just ironic. Xiaomi is a business and its natural for them to continue selling in Russia because their products are in demand there. Samsung is also very popular in Russia but the Finnish government just turned a blind eye because South Korea is an ally of NATO.
USA keep accusing China of human rights violations but Walmart and other US companies are still raking in tens of billions each year from doing business in China. "Oh, we will ban you from operating outside of China because you are linked CCP. Excuse us, while companies from our countries busy earning billions from Chinese people. " See the hypocrisy?

The thing is, every business decision finds its excuses.
Many still believe Russia to be right, even in my country which is miles away from this conflict. There are people who believe Russia has every right over Ukraine.
While not engaging in useless debates, let me just say, the war was definitely avoidable. It has costed so many lives and caused so much damage, it remains a shame on humanity.
And that is a call Russia and Putin took consciously, knowing well what would happen.

you have to suffer, 21 Sep 2023i hope they didn't use different frequency bands thoug... moreOlder 5G phones like Samsung S20-S22 had vastly different band support but the S23 (and other newer phones), while still having different support, both the international and american model support the major bands in the opposite area.
Which leads me to the second point. The finnish model is the same model sold in the rest of europe and many other parts of the world. There might be a us or china model, but 5g support is mostly the same. (People want to be able to use 5G when traveling too. It's a good selling point.)
So to summarize. If you're buying a new phone it doesn't matter which version. If you're buying an old phone just get the international version, or china version (if you live in Europe). The us version is different on older 5G phones.

Carol, 20 Sep 2023Good joke, needs applause. You confuse Finland with china a... moreLooking at your comments, your idea of democracy is basically ban everything from China because they are not allies of the western countries. But turn a blind eye to western companies still operating in China because western companies always abide by laws and treat their employees better.
