I would not recommend it. lenovo is the most popular laptop in the world, not apple macbook. here are the exact 2022 numbers; Lenovo 24%, HP 19%, Dell 17%, Apple 9%, Asus 7%.

Linux only started to support this in 2023.
You can read/ write to NTFS on a Mac if you use Parallels.

Is it really though? I mean for everyday low level tasks, then perhaps so, right now.
But again, this thing has the word ‘Pro’ in its name, that to me suggests a far heavier and more demanding use case. And the high cost would suggest a longer term investment.
In either case the 14 Pro with 8gb memory that cannot be expanded is not a wise investment. If it has to be a MacOS for the customer, but their use case is that basic, just get a Mac Air. If they have higher demands and a Mac Pro is needed, spend for the extra memory, even at Apples exorbitant prices.
Either way avoid a base model Mac Pro 14.

Always buy windows powered laptops. If you want a very advanced and capable operating system and not a useless joke with limits. Mac can't even read ntfs flash drive.

In 2023, no laptop that A. Starts at a pound shy of £1700 and B. Has ‘Pro’ in its name has any business featuring just 8gb memory. Even one built by Apple.

The base model doesn't make sense, it's intended to upsell you pricier models because the MBA is a better deal at that price point.
If you're content with 8 GB, you probably don't need a MBP in the first place.
