exHuaweiDigital, 14 Nov 2023False... several of my clients would complain that certain ... moreI'm using Mate 30 pro 5G since Jan 2021. Ovetime Petal maps have drastically improved and are almost as competent as Gmaps. Very rarely I face a problem when someone shares a Gmaps link in Petal Maps.

I bet they'll drop support for the base OS but have a workaround in the form of a virtual android environment that can run android apps.
I saw somewhere that google apps can run on Huawei phones already in such an environment. Is it still possible? I'm not sure.

HarmonyOS has been giving OpenOS to devs for years and remember this is just for china, EMUI is still there for global, Huawei hasn't been selling well globally but in china its grown significantly , People forget HarmonyOS has very little hardware resource requirement even routers in china have harmonyos , this makes its use very wide, IoTs are loaded with Harmony in china and its easy to use them using harmony than Android or IOS(Later cuz closed ass system that doesn't allow integration well)
Idk why so many butthurts this won't come to you neither do you use Huawei , its for china and it has huge success, do people think Developers won't be making apps for HarmonyOS with its 200million users?

You know what, I'm all up for Harmony OS to start becoming a 3rd major OS for smartphones.
I hope Harmony OS is pushed to other manufacturers as well, such as Vivo or Xiaomi. I want to see Apple and Google squirm at the thought that their monopolies are about to be challenged, hopefully pushing them to fix all their OS issues?
This will only benefit us all.

False... several of my clients would complain that certain support services ... like a small example - maps that are found to locate bank branches on the app saw huge drop rates and incorrect data as they couldnt use GMAPS
From someone who knows the inside VERY well... there are loads and loads of other issues that are greater than just maps

Good for the phone users, as the competing OS will have to be better to stay in the game. harmony will be adopted by the world if it is user friendly and not controlled by the Chinese govt.

It was never streamlined or optimised and Google never bothered with optimising or streamlining it. The result is that Google's Pixel phones have some of the worst battery life.
I am thinking Huawei will do a much better job with HarmonyOS Next than Google with Android.
