Latest Geekbench results show the Exynos 2400 is closing the gap to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

04 January 2024
The results come from a Galaxy S24+ and a Galaxy S24 Ultra, respectively, and the Samsung chip compares more favorably to its rival than it did a few months ago.

Not bad for the exyno with Single & multi core..close enough to the snapdragon .. Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra getting snapdragon 8 gen 3 and Samsung Galaxy s24 & plus is getting exyno 2400 ..will have to see real world test

8 gen 3 still managed to be on top even though it has 2 cores less than the 2400.

If Exynos continues to be made by Samsung (foundry) it can never catch up on both performance and efficiency. One has to be sacrificed to achieve the other. I fear all reports on them being closer are simply Samsung's marketing department trying to put a positive spin on Exynos.

You'll see throttle tests done with lower max clocks, and the peak performance tests done with insane clocks that throttle immediately after the test has completed. Deceptive tacticts...

What they need to do to get me interested is to sell Exynos versions at a lower price.

This reminds me of the hype for the AMD GPU on the 2200 and hype about how Tensor going to be best chipset for Android. Remember how those went down? Yeah, not optimisitic that the 2400 will live up to expectations given Exynos track record. Welp, at least it wont be a tragedy as catastrophic as the 990...I hope.

Run the tests again and maybe even a third time and you will see why exynos is such a scam.

At this point, it's the cooling and thermals that matter more for a flagship chipset rather than a slightly better peak performance for a few seconds

More chips wasted = more money qualcomm had to pay.

Nothing to do with heat. Qualcomm would love to stick with samsung semicon, because the price is far lower than tsmc.

Apple moved away from Samsung because their chipset were too warm.
Qualcomm abandoned Samsung for the same reason.
Why can't Samsung see they have a huge problem? After all these years they still can't compete with QC.
Even when the performance is close, the phones overheat and throttle. And when they don't overheat, the performance is bad.
I don't live monopolies but Qualcomm is better.
Samsung needs to invest a lot to fix their chip business.

Well folks will Samsung actually deliver???
