Imagine falling for the titanium meme. These people have really run out of things to innovate from these stagnant devices.

If hardware is good, i don't care...

Aierlan, 11 Feb 2024I think if you always use a case it doesn't matter too... moreIt depends on the specific type of plastic. A plastic body can be even stronger than an aluminum body. Do you remember when most smartphones had an all-aluminum body 5-7 years ago? Well, I've seen a lot of smartphones with dents from drops and peeling paint.

Apple opposes right-to-repair bill that threatens its dominance in device repairs

Not really a news worthy for this site to make article about it ? :D

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2024Aluminum mining is not any near the amount recycled. Si... moreNever made the claim that plastic isn't bad for the environment

Im waiting for you to defend the argument that metal extraction isn't equivalent in pollution

Your hiding behind aluminium no one made that claim

I am patiently waiting to learn

Easy question, whatever material is best for cellular signal and reception even if it doesn't feel premium. I rather have good connectivity than a nice looking device. A phone is used for calls not to show off.

Spanky, 11 Feb 2024I prefer PLASTIC because it is light weight and cheap!Below 400$/500€ should all follow this, mostly because it's cheap and get the job done.

GAMIR3DH, 11 Feb 2024So something easy to break but very powerful... So you can ... moreI have never broken a smartphone like you said. And no, you can purchase a good cover and thats it. Remember, powerful inside and cheap plastic outside. No ip-68, no aluminum frame, titanium or kevlar. Flagship processor, a good vapor chamber, best ram and UFS. And of course best cameras. :)

Since you like plastic so much, where do poplymers used to make plastic come from?
                        Oh wait, petroleum.
You have methane being released in the air, so much oil ends in the oceans every year.

Already reading about microplastic as recommended? Please, read the part it has already been found inside human bodies, attached to organs because water is full of it.

Aluminum with a shock-absorbing case will do. Aluminum is standard, not expensive, not too cheap. The case will absorb any shock that the drop will give.

I think aluminum which is lighter and cheaper, is best, even with titanium you have to use some degree of aluminum as explained from this paragraph. In the end it's worth to mention that most of us will use a phone case anyway.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2024Most aluminum used comes from reclycling. Stop spreading ... moreStop grasping at straws please

You read my comments that metal extraction isn't good

And to counter my point you minimised my arguement to aluminium ONLY against my claim that METAL extraction is not good either

But go ahead tell me about recycling I want to hear you defend it.. tell me about the recycling Industry

Tell me how efficient and great it is.. I am willing to sit and listen

Tell me about the shipment paths of the metals to be recycled the , tell me about the landfills, the participation of people separating their garbage and the third world labor to recycle it.. I am willing to learn

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2024Again spreding lies? 80% of garbage found in the ocean ... moreAnd how much plastics are in the atmosphere we breathe?

Do you think waste is only on solid form?

When bauxite is mined, when iron is extracted from ores do you think fossil fuel isn't burned in the process?

Tell me what lies am I spreading?

Spanky, 11 Feb 2024I prefer PLASTIC because it is light weight and cheap!Go see the weight of s20 x s21.

Well for having a lot of fun. From elderscroll series glass for lightweight ad durability.
Daedric, Dragon or Ebony for supreme durability.

From Master of Orion 2 awesome game from Microsoft from 1995 would love to have phone made of Reinforced Xetronium combined with heavy armor, reinforced huull and damper field. This was the best defensive add ons to make your space ships almost unkillable.

From movies Vibranium or Adamantium would do.

From real world there is nothing better than a core crust of a neutron star.

And for light wight and durability a spidersilk would do.
Can imagine to have phone made of spidersilk but durable as diamond.
Something of size of Mate 20 X a 7,2 inch sized phone but with weight less than 2 grams.

And all that powered by upcomming level of batteries to be exact Nuclear batteries are on its way. First phones will be made within a year or two as i head and read correctly and its expected to last no less than a 50+ years on a charge.
