Sony Xperia 1 VI might give up on the 4K display and tall aspect ratio

Alelouia 😀😀 I've been waiting for this news for a long time!! the 21/9 screen ratio is very special and Sony is trying to stand out but it is obvious that there is no point in insisting because few people appreciated this 21/9 ratio and the competitors have understood it well, the 4 K screen is not quite a 4 k screen and the scenarios where we can use the high definition of the screen are not very numerous, I think that QHD is sufficient and especially on the screen supports LTPO oled and supports DolbyVision would be very good, as they say here in France, only fools don't change their minds

    To me sony makes the best phones ,but thei are way too expensive, not even the older models go down ,its sad they could rule the smartphone market EASY
    IF THEY DROP PEIVES BY 30 % THEY WOULD BE number 1 in less than 4 years ...and make them available in Europe I never saw one in a store that's weird

                  Sony after realizing that most people only want to use phone that looks like a Samsung or an iPhone.

                    Well, I am happy if that narrow design will be finally gone, and about that 4k display, I think that is a good idea to save some money, because a QHD resolution is more then enough on a phone, and they can use the saved money to improve the cameras for example.

                        Spanky, 15 Mar 202419,5:9 is such a weird aspect ratio. All the numbers should... moreNothing is weird about it. 19.5:9 is 39:18. 21:9 is 2.33:1. Why do you think that 39:18 is weird and 2.33:1 is not? The idea is that the aspect ratio of most video content is 16:9. However, when you hold your phone, you thumbs may cover the left and right sides of the screen, so ideally the aspect ratio should be wider than 16:9 so that you'll see all content.

                            If these rumors hold true, sony will not come out alive. I feel people have forgotten about sony xperias. The cost, first off, $1000+ dollar device, for at default the camera app is inferior to say pixel, galaxy s, or iphone. Not many people know how to play with the camera settings nor do they have the time to adjust the settings when they just want a point and shoot. Second, updates. People see more years of support on os ans security updates. Thirdly the device has a reputation of heating. The stock android feel to it also is boring. I rooted for xperia but at the price they sell their flagship and mid rangers, I prefer to look elsewhere.

                                I think a 1.5K-2K LTPO screen is more practical than a 4K LTPS display.

                                    Because most people buys on carrier plans for getting a lot cheaper device and gonna sell old device when they are eglibe for new device while old still holds some value.
                                    Phones which are 5-7 years old even still suported for OS update have such old hardware most apps does not runs properly.
                                    So the said updates does not matter much.
                                    Dont know anyone who shed from pockets 1500 eur for a flagship phone instead of buying on a 2 years contract for a 4% of phone price per month.

                                        If we exclude Z5 premium which back in 2015 had 1500 eur price tag and had endurance of only 45 mins when set up to 4K.
