The benchmarks reports the main CPU cores could make it the smartphone chipset with the highest clock speed yet.

I think it's just 2 things, Geekbench bs and slightly more inefficient nodes from Qualcomm/Mediatek. If you see Geekerwan's videos you'd know that they're extremely close in terms of efficiency in the bottom half and only separate in the top half of the power curve.

              Only usb 3 is not enough.

                Yet there'd still be smartphones with that SoC using a USB-C 2.0 port anyway. At this point, USB-C 3.1 with wired video output should be mandatory for smartphones running flagship SoC. There's no point giving x86-rivalling firepower when you can't even use the phone as a PC.
