What kind of logic is this? Q1 2024 highest number of all smartphone sales globally - iPhone 15 Pro Max, Q2 2024 highest number of all smartphone sales globally - iPhone 15, Q3 2024 highest number of all smartphone sales globally - wanna take a guess what phone it is going to be?

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2024It is painfully obvious that you have never used an iPhone ... moreYou're funny. I like funny people...
All i see on apple diessasambly videos is a lot of anti-repair implementations, for you that might means "premium" (even tough you still do not know what the word means, go on and search for it before using it again), for me that means ewaste waiting to happen. But hey, you're happy. Iphones are everywhere, is really nothing special about them. I do not know where you live, but west europe is definetly not the place to talk about, "never used an iphone" bla bla bla. Here you use them if you want too, or not out of whatever reason, either a company garba...aaa phone. or just trying to repair it for someone else. As for trillion dollar hardware, hahaha funny, you mean that mac that kills it'self because of heat, with its 8 GB RAM, or those VR Glasses with external cables hanging on for a power-bank? Or iphones that have nothing changed for almost 15 years? For sure not, right? Trillion dollar monopolistic implementations? Yep, there you're rightt. They do not sell half as much as you dream, they do fool a lot of their customers tough to get deep inside the walled garden and pay for stuff as banal as a charging cable 10 times it's price, because apple. But well, you stay there behind the garden and keep pumping money in the company, they really need it. I have better things to use.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2024What'll take to apple's reputation to come down?I'm sorry I don't get what you mean. Are you talking about what it'll take to get rid of Apple's brand value?

If they continue to make the same products when everyone has started making proven and reliable higher tier products. Like how Nokia just went poof because they didn't invest in smartphones like Apple did. Apple most likely won't make the same mistake, they have invested in a lot of places, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple iPad/iPhone, Mac, Macbooks and now the Vision Pro. If one business fails, the other one will uphold the Apple legacy.

It's tough to say what can happen in the technology sphere but you can make inferences from the car world. Lamborghini made tractors and then made supercars, after that they were kind of failing, then the Diablo made a sort of revival and the Murcielago came and revived them, under Audi. Apple is too big and most likely doing too much research to just fall suddenly. They're not making any huge wrong moves. Unless there's a disruption in the market, I don't see them falling. You can easily see that Apple's market share and sales have only been rising, I don't think it's going to go away soon unless the global economy collapses to such an extent that Apple phones are simply not viable for anyone to buy.

I hope Huawei's Mate XT is a success and we get a more durable phone in the end. If that phone type were to get cheaper we'd finally be able to move on from normal bar phones but I highly doubt that, bar phones are more durable. BUT, considering wired headphones/earphones are slowly being phased out in favor of the less durable (due to lots of part in a small place) and less long lasting (due to battery) TWS/Wireless sets, it isn't that far off of a possibility.

Only time will tell buddy. I just want to see the real innovators like Huawei, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi get the spotlight OR to see the top ones like Apple and Samsung doing the same innovations.

Carol-, 13 Sep 2024While you are right, apple is selling the most in the high ... moreIt is painfully obvious that you have never used an iPhone in your entire life. Apple is a trillion dollar HARDWARE company. Apple has the best hardware bar none, absolutely no other electronics company on planet earth sells even close to their level of consumer hardware mate. Open up any Apple product and it is premium from top to bottom, go watch the teardown videos for visual examples. Couple that with the physical Apple stores in every city and you can see the huge disparity in the quality of experience you get from any other brand.

ishreal, 12 Sep 2024It's pretty easy to debunk everything you wrote. BBK e... moreA few things.

Firstly, there's no proper evidence to say that BBK as a whole sells as much premium phones as Apple in the first place. Pretty sure if you add all three of them up you'll still only get numbers similar to Huawei or at best similar to Samsung. Let's just say that ALL of Oppo and Vivo's sales are magically premium smartphones exclusively for the sake of your argument.

                              https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-share/mobile/worldwide

Add up the market share of Oppo, Vivo and Realme at any point. Let me show 2 examples for you. First, on Sept 2023. Oppo has 5.53%, Vivo has 5.02% and Realme has 3.52%, add all them up and you get 14.07%. That's only enough to beat Xiaomi, NOT Samsung, let alone Apple. If you think that source is not trustworthy then take a look at this

                              https://www.counterpointresearch.com/insights/global-smartphone-share/

Only if you add the market share of Vivo and Oppo (Which includes Oneplus here) do you get a higher number and only then is your argument true. Granted, this might be ignoring Realme so let's say they added Realme to the mix as well and since they last were 5.53/3.52*100=63.65% of Oppo's share, let's say in Q2 2023 they had 63.65% of Oppo's 10% share, that leads to 6.365%, let's just say 6.4%. Only if you add all the manufacturers up, assume the numbers for which models they sell and assume the numbers of Realme as well do you see them pulling significantly ahead of Apple.

Your logic doesn't stand. It's only partially true. BBK's subsidiaries make the largest number of premium handsets, but they don't sell them. To make it clearer, they make the most amount of premium models of phones, that doesn't automatically make them the best at that particular price range. More doesn't equal better.

"BBK sells more premium smartphones every year than Apple, that's a fact"

who said that? Do you know that Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus and Xiaomi all suffer cus of Huawei in the Chinese market? Let alone Apple. Apple's brand value and different OS make them a different category for Chinese people and most people will buy them no matter what, so the other brands have to mainly compete with Huawei and even then they aren't winning all the time.

Thirdly, no one just considers BBK as a business by itself in terms of statistics. They just own the businesses. That's it. The businesses themselves are free to go and do whatever they want. UNLESS someone specifically talks about the conglomerate, everyone means the businesses separately. It's important to have data points that allow one to get ideas easily. For example what phone company is at what point in terms of market share. So you just finally decided to use BBK as a defensive measure against what I said. Makes sense why you might say that, but doesn't make sense in the argument. Considering just BBK as their own company using all of their companies' market shares added up as some sort of point is just weird. Samsung owns Harmon, no one says they're the largest brand for audio products.

After some digging I found out that most car sales analytics also fail to be consistent, they frequently show "Volkswagen" but only sometimes show Chevrolet+Cadillac as GM and stuff so their numbers aren't that useful, another one is that they put Jaguar Land Rover and Ford separately instead of using Tata, there's no consistency in how they use their data points. That was a mistake by them, yeah, studies can have mistakes too, the ones doing it are only human and most likely it's because researching all the different small aspects could be time consuming so they just chalk it up as a whole. But in any case, these companies are talked about separately, based on their own merits. It's common sense and even for statistics it's helpful.

                              Finally, BBK is no more.

"The company was deregistered on April 7, 2023"

So even if all of the things you said were somehow made true. BBK has been deregistered and so they aren't officially owning all of the small brands anymore.

Your rebuttal is shoddy at best and shady at worst. I don't wish to waste my time further on this pointless thing. You only know how to research for your own benefit/something that'll validate your own opinions. You still haven't said anything to justify why I am an Apple fanboy and doing some "Apple fanboyism". Grow up.

Fast charging just degrades the battery faster, like it or not, it's just the nature of chemical storage batteries. Who cares how fast it's charging, most people plug it in at night before bed and have a fully charged battery in the morning. Few charge it multiple times a day, and those who do are just killing the battery faster. Nuff' said.

BBK is a multi-brand owner and even so only samsung manages to come on the list of the 10 most sold high-end devices. From 10 to 1 Apple has like 7 places covered, or at least had in 2023. Premium is used this days way to much in wrong contextes or with wrong meanings. They are definetly expensive for no reason tough, so they might fit with this criteria in the "premium" cathegory, but that's about it. Anyway, apple has this high share in the high end market because of second hand or refurbished deals, not necessary because people buy their newest releases every year. The fact that people still confidently buy their products even tough apple showed so much anti-trust and monopolist tendances, it is actually unbelieveble. Either apple already managed to turn their customers around the world into zombies, or the world never had something to say against bad practices, bad actors, untrustfully behaviour and pure greed, which is sad, especially when for some, their only goal in life is to buy an iphone...
