I bought an Android phone (3 years used at the time) and battery was at 83 percent so that's better than your XR

Also most chinese phones are much better at retaining battery span than iphones, with many rated for 1600 charge and discharge cycles before reaching 80 percentage vs iPhone that's only rated for 800 at best and that was only starting from the 15 that they started doing that

There are either Li-Ion or Li-polymer, or older tech like Ni-mh, ni-cd, ni-zn, that's it. Whatever the chinese are doing, besides splitting the batteries in 2 or 4, and puting some heat sensors arround ,they either destroy them with each and every charge, or they actually lie to customer, and the phones never really charge at the giving rate pass 5 Minutes.

                from 20W to 27-29W is not really much faster. It's just a bit faster. Still a really big of a joke when even budget phones have like 33W as standard now. Never mind that there are also 65/67/90/100/120W now days.

My gf has an iPhone 11, bought in 2022 brand new when it was still in production. Right now it is around 83-82%, but it is frequent for her to drop the phone to 0% battery which is one of the worst things you can do to a battery if you want it to last as much as it can.

                      My Brother’s OnePlus 12 takes only 26mins to charge from 0-100% with 100W charger…while my Samsung S24 Ultra take 1.05hr to fully charge from 0-100% with 45W charger.

                          Also you can see many phones go 0 - 50% in 30 min, then take 45-50 min for the other 50%.
                          Each brand controls in different ways.

I'm actually surprised Apple is going to 45 W cus Samsung hasn't gone up and so there isn't any REAL incentive for them to do so. But I'm sure even they were tired of the previous charging speeds.

                                        Also, we're talking about charging speeds here. We all know 60 hz on base iPhones is a meme at this point. It's just Apple's strategy of milking their customers, the same way Samsung milks the slow charging, the poor camera sensors (3x telephoto of their phones for example) and so on.
