ishreal, 12 Sep 2024Apple absolutely is not the market leader for premium phone... morei wrote an essay but it went to gsm's mod list, most likely will get deleted, so i'll write something in short. Stats say Apple is the market leader for premium phones.

jiyen235, 12 Sep 2024what sort of lazy justification is that? weird. When let... moreYes, Samsung being stuck at 45 Watts sucks. But the fact that Apple increases their charging and doesn't even go beyond that is just sad. That being said they also stick with 60 Hertz on their non-Pro models, so the bare minimum isn't new for them..

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024If I don’t like a fact I just refute it. Trump logicEven GSM arena can't escape trump haters 😭

Meanwhile we already have android phones with up to 200w wired charging that also have 5000 mAh batteries, not to mention many devices around the 300 usd price tag come with 67w fast charging. I don't know what is stopping Apple from putting battery size and charging speeds that are up to the current year's standards.

The Oppo Find X's special edition had a 50 W charging back in 2018. If someone says special editions don't count, which is fair, then there's the Oppo Find X2 Pro. It came with a fairly large battery (for the time) of 4200 mah and a 65 W charger.

The Mi 10 Ultra had a monstrous 120 W charger for its big 4500 mah battery (for the time). The wireless charger was faster than Apple and Samsung's, at 50W.

The stunning Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ came in 2020 with 65 W wired and 50 W wireless charging for its 4400 mah battery.

Just imagine a world where these Chinese manufacturers were the market leaders. We'd be living in a Blade Runner type future instead of this dystopian modern day era.

2024 H1 : Apple holds top 3 spot and number 6 as well. Samsung's S24 Ultra held the 5th spot in Q1 and went down to 9th in Q2 along with a 10th place finish for the S24. The rest are budget phones from Samsung.

I'm not spouting random nonsense, I'm taking in the facts and making a logical conclusion. Apple is the market leader for premium phones, GSMArena calls the 600 euro 13t pro a Premium all rounder so if 600 euro is the entry point for the premium market then by all means all phones released by Apple per year except for the SE are premium, especially outside of the US where prices are super high.

Another logical conclusion is also the fact that Samsung is the android market leader, judging by how no other android flagship has sold more than Samsung, most likely since Huawei was forced to leave.

Samsung overall has a larger market share and only Xiaomi is close to Apple and Samsung in terms of market share, no doubt helped by the immense marketing/production they do in the Indian market.

                        Market share stats :

Cite me some better sources and explain how Apple isn't the market leader for premium phones and I'll happily take my statements back. In case you didn't know what market leader meant, here's a definition from Investopedia, a site I trust and has helped me with my Business exams.

"A market leader is a company with the largest market share in an industry that can often use its dominance to affect the competitive landscape and direction the market takes"

                        https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/market-leader.asp

I am NOT an Apple fanboy, if anything i hate Apple for making the smartphone market this corporatized mess it is and i despise Samsung for following them.

The only company you can call me a fanboy of is Vivo, even then I can be critical of them, I don't blindly love/justify everything. The only phones that deserve that are the S7 Edge, S10+, Oneplus 3/3T, Oneplus 12, Vivo X100 Pro, Xiaomi Poco F5 and the Nothing Phone 2a. Those hit extemely hard for their price, have a great feature set or are just better than their direct compeitors for the price.

I don't understand why you people get defensive over stating facts. Android vs Apple isn't all sunshine and rainbows. If Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo weren't making huge amounts of sales with thei budget phones, they wouldn't have been able to pay for the R&D for their flagships nor pay for the distribution/mass production costs. Just because I point out that fact doesn't make their flagships bad. Huawei sells more in China, does that automitcally make them the best? Jeez. Where's critical thinking? I hope you're a kid cus if not, then yikes you need some more emotional/mental maturity.

Oneplus 9 had 65w fast charging and came out back in 2021. Let that sink in.

When let's say, England and Germany have a Draw in a football match, it doesn't matter what side hit the goal first, they both drew.

My point is that Samsung is stuck at 45 W, for long enough that Apple caught up. If you think it's pathetic that it took Apple this long to "catch up" I think it's more pathetic that Samsung aren't doing anything to get ahead. Samsung isn't the market leader for premium phones, Apple is. Apple has the leverage to be lazy and still be considered the boss. Samsung is number 2 and they're already acting lazy and smug.
