Thats why im currently going to try the new tech, the Magnetize type-c extension. im waiting for my order to Try it.
So basically you plug your additional accessories on detached magnet type-c extension.
On the description of seller you can connect external keyboard and mouse.

However you can't assume the same for 3.5mm because it's still widely used in Media production and audiophile equipment so until someone comes up with True lossless wireless audio (not lossy Bluetooth) I wouldn't see that happening

ben, 20 Oct 2024my dad's oppo f1 lasted 7 years before it dies because... moreThe difference with the oppo f1 is, this thing is an entry level device, pretty sure the F1 has much better build quality than this considering Samsung's budget quality degrade over years, either way even if it lasts that long and not in a bin as someone mentioned. that hardware won't be running android 20 efficiently enough to do anything without lagging like hell.

Even if you remove the Galaxy XCover6 Pro, with ip rating AND removable batteries, older ip68 phones with open ports rarely had issues. Next time, I'm betting you'll be saying the same thing once the usb type c port disappears lmao.

I'm going the rugged phone route even if the phone will be stuck on Android 13 forever. Ordered an Oukitel WP33 Pro yesterday because I'm sick and tired of these flimsy glass slabs or overpriced foldables with sub-5000 mAh batteries. WP33 Pro is a brick that weighs as much as an LCD Steam Deck but at least I don't have to worry about charging it twice a day like I do with my Razr 5G, Z Flip 3, iPhone SE, and Pixel 3.

If I end up liking the WP33 Pro enough, I may get the Unihertz Tank Mini which does have a headphone jack and expandable storage. I wish GSM Arena covered Unihertz. They rarely cover Oukitel and Doogee. The rugged phone market is where it's at if you can deal with midrange SoCs and inferior cameras but want strong, durable build quality, loud speakers, and battery life that gives you 20+ hour SOT that would embarrass any iPhone Pro Max and S23 Ultra.

6 years of android support sounds like marketing bs, if you never look outside the world

I think the six years of updates are a gimmick to cover up the lack of hardware improvement, not to mention the removal of the headphone jack.

Making a call would be the only thing this (smart) phone could be doing in 6yrs although highly doubtful if the hardware even last that long, it's like using a Samsung J4 plus in 2024, pure marketing BS at work, a Nokia feature phone is a better alternative

"Others like the phone, but don't plan on waiting the full 6 years before upgrading."

Well, I don't, and I also don't think it can last anywhere near 6 years, maybe in a bin.

The same with external storage because cloud exists. Now some people are feeling the pain of low storage and cloud rentals but it's too late to go back.
