Make sure that all smartphones and gadgets such as smartwatches, wireless buds/neckband, etc charge using a standardized charging rate. More for high capacity batteries (smartphones above 4000mAh) and less for low capacity batteries (ear buds, smartwatches etc)

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2024Continue charging your phone with type a or micro-usb. Gott... moreHow the heck you push type-c in a device that have microusb plug ? You think that just cause the standards change then your devices ports magically also change to the new port ???
Just cause the device is old dont mean that you need to throw it away and not use it. Never mind that there are microusb cables that are just like type-c to plug in the phone what ever way you want. I have the cable for my old Redmi note 5 Ai dual Cam that still works and is usable. How do i charge the phone that is from 2018 and dont have type-c port ???
Or how do i charge my portable speaker that have microusb ? Why do i need to get new portable speaker with type-c plug ? Do you even think with the thing in your head call as a brain or is that for decoration purpose only for you ?
I am not against the type-c port. It's jsut that i still have devices that use microusb and i have a lot of them that are totally useful to use still. In a charging brick that USB-A is not even old technology that needs to be changed. It was microusb that was needed to be changed. They dont demand to lose usb-a plugs to type-c as far as i know cause laptops still have them in and TV and other things.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2024Enjoy using micro-usb in 2025 I guessHow re tar ded you must be to talk like year number makes any difference.
Why dont we have Mars colonized already cause we have rockets technology and it's a year 2025. So what is the deal ?
Typical brain dead comment to say that using microusb in 2025 like it's so old technology that belongs to 19th century. There sre still shet ton devices that have microusb port so all must be replaced cause it's 2025 ? Never mind that nothing wrong with something like portable speaker or something like that

DarlingYext, 30 Dec 2024"Note that those huge chargers with 50W+ power will on... moreUsed 67w charging on my 12x for a year, then 18w for next year.
Battery health decreased the same across both years.
Fast charging done right does little to no damage.
Also, spoiler alert, manufacturers will lower their battery quality when making slower charging phone, so y'all asking for slower charging speeds will end up with same battery life then if you ask for higher speeds and then use lower wattage charger.

Juraj, 30 Dec 2024Finally! They should have done this 10 years ago. It'... moreI totally agree with you fellow. My upper charging limit usually is 10W (pc, monitor or slow brick) and only if I really need it I charge faster. My current phone is over 3 years old and the battery is still as good as new. :)

Juraj, 30 Dec 2024Finally! They should have done this 10 years ago.
It'... more"Note that those huge chargers with 50W+ power will only reduce lifetime of your battery and it's better to charge your devices slowly.."
Have you ever actually used a phone with such fast charging and have experienced this usse? If not, then please don't spread false claims. My 1,5 year old vivo X Note still has excellent battery health (97% to be exact, as it shows that in the settings app), and I've only charged it with their included 80W charging brick and an original vivo 50W wireless charger. The phone is always being used with mobile data turned on and full brightness too.
"It's also much safer since battery doesn't heat up during slow charge."
It definitely does, but instead of staying hot for a short time, it stays hot for 1-2 hours, because it's slow.

This is a step in the right direction. The next logical step would be to not allow new devices to ship with chargers and cables in the boxes. Consumers should just use all chargers and cables "lying around" and only buy new ones when the old break. And don't even get me started on the massive waste of ac power cables. :)

JimmyTheGreatest, 30 Dec 2024I wished the EU banned all the uninstallable bloatware. Not... moreConcerning spyware, I have a good example for it, which might not be known to everyone:
Samsung's settings app has a "special access" section, which allows apps by default to control different things like wifi and storage.
I noticed that on my Tab S7+ (which I kept on Android 11 because I don't want to put any strain on the device) I cannot deactivate "wifi-control" for google olay services. Fortunately, I can deactivate it on my S22 Ultra with Android 14.
This is just one example on how corporations secretly steal your data.
