Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge the right flagship for you?

18 May 2025
The Edge tries to take things in a new direction - slimming down a flagship and making it lighter instead of packing on new features. But that comes at a cost.

Sort by:

This isn't a flagship phone in 2025.

Do I want one? Yes. Will I actually buy one? Nah.

It just doesn't do justice for your money. Sounds like a phone that you'd only buy used or refurbished.

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 18 hours agoUSB 2.0, more fake lens, more 2MP decorative/macro/blur cam... moreWell, Chinese phones cannot compare in quality to the unique 5 soda caps glued with superglue as camera rings on the Korean S25 Ultra. 😁🤣🤣
Not to mention the quality of OneUI7, which they polished for half a year and still your phone stutters when you try to open your notifications. 🤣

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 18 hours agoUSB 2.0, more fake lens, more 2MP decorative/macro/blur cam... moreFriend said 2mp macro gives even low cost samsungs what do you want to say.
And prove me the A16 would survive 7 years of updates with its laughable ram and specs you funny.
By the way since when software support is that important if you have only one year of warranty outside of EU and inside EU 2 years of warranty.
Even a flagship grade like S25 Ultra can brick or breaks after 2 years of use you know accidents happens.
Will you pay half the price for example 700 euros for repair your so called still supported device or will you pay twice as much for new S27 ultra with new 2 years of warranty and not exhausted internals and battery past 2 years because of new device unlike said broken S25 Ultra.
To me warranty was always more improtant than years of updates.

By the way you can have even a 100 years of updates support but some apps will not work in future on outdated CPUs and GPUs. Mostly games.
So your statement is not valid not even a tiny bit.

Aadrian, 18 May 2025No I am happy using my S24 Ultra. Same here.
First time I'm going to skip a generation. The way things are going, if Samsung keeps this up or gets even worse, I might skip a few generations.
Just ordered a new case instead.

And, of course, it is cheaper to not release half their phones outside of China and to provide bad short software support that is not as long as Samsung.

The ones who would use this phone won't be using it either, they will only be charging it constantly and all the time until the battery gives up, or they give up on the phone, whichever comes first.

3900mAh to power a Snapdragon 8 Elite with only 25W WIRED charging? For how much money?? Only to put a case on it anyway??? LMAO! Why would anyone in their mind buy this????

It's just downgraded S25+. Not worth the attention & price.

the ones who'd use this phone are either Samsung fanboys or people who dont really care too much about their tech. Thus, the potential customers of this phone are not going to be found on sites like this I believe so this poll would be pointless.

Even if we were to say that someone would've wanted a phone like this, the pricing just kills any effective demand they would've had. This is neither small nor an exceptional value for money, in the middle of nowhere with a weird gimmick that not many, if any, asked for.

It reminds me of Poco F1 of the old times.
Snappgradon SD845 on board alog with tons of mediocre features. but at least for 350 eur pricing.
This acting like an unbeatable super hero from Marvel universe but actually got beaten because its hero skills lasts only for a short term of use then the phone needs a deep sleep to be used again for a very short time.
Its like trying to fly with a X43 super secret plane from Area 51 in USA which have mach 10 capabilities but you are limited by a cable.

No offense, Peter is trying to make sure us when you need a better phone and he introduces the stuff into, but sometimes you don't need to preach a voting event when the famous OEMs is in selfish mod, produces underdog niches for utter inferiority. I mean why you don't try understand people reactions when the things arrive, so things doesn't end stupid like "Weekly pool results: Galaxy S25 Edge is promising but availablity is the issue".

kdss, 18 May 2025"flagship" 😁😁😁😁😁More like a Crapship than a flagship to be honest apart the CPU and GPU and one main camera there is nothing flagship grade.
Even a Oneplus 13R is more flagship grade phone than S25 lite or edge.

Chinese endless spam of mid-range junk (Samsung is also good at this) ? Or those bulky so-called "ultra" flagships, that Chinese phone maker can't even bother to release globally?

Globally, these Chinese companies are mostly nobodies. Maybe they'd actually dare to launch their "ultra" phones worldwide if they weren't so allergic to respecting patents and international laws. Why would Samsung even care about them for now.

nah skip this phone. slim is NOT meaning to downgrade. but slim is also needs superior large battery from 5800mah to 6500mah

i mean SIC battery is fair at much because of innovate.
