Its likely overlocked version, just like with iPhone 5S and iPad Air. The bigger resolution needed little bit more power to handle the resolution and thats exactly what Apple did. IPad Air actually is more powerful with same GPU than iPhone 5S even the resolution is lot bigger.
Performance wise iPhone 6 and 6 plus are going to be equal or plus got even better performance.

my z2 is also buttery smooth i play the latest games at 1080p high details and it runs like a dream.

Just accept the fact that when android users looking benchmark score numbers iPhone 6 users enjoying buttery smooth GPU performance while android users playing their laggy games.
By the way you are clearly forgetting Apple new metal graphic API which going to give a lot power for upcoming games.

Wait a week and you see that new iPhones are going to perform just like 5S, buttery smooth and very fast and they are going to run every game buttery smooth for atleast one year, while android flagships already have big problems to handle those new high graphics games.

the s5 outpreformed it even at a higher resolution, bump the s5 down to 750p and the gap would be even bigger
i have nothing aginst this phone its a nice phone and the plus with good features but to say they will preform better then andriod flagships is just silly, 5s preformed good because of the lower resolution for the screen. install a game on pc and run it at 720p and it will preform better than 1080p. the more pixels you have to render the slower you run it at its that simple

Yes yes.. But but... iv heard this same EVERY year and every year iOS Devices outperform android rivals even the best ones. IPhone 5S even outperform year newer devices.

You know 60fps is max :D so it cant run any faster... also it would lag like mad with z2

AnonD-1825, 13 Sep 2014This is now possible with iPhone 6 http://youtu.be/2ChOe6dI... morei already have the performance to do this and more (1080p), i have a sony z2 (snap dragon 801). all we need is a developer to use all the power of the chip, if andriod had this game it would run even faster due to the better gpu (benchmark score) and better cpu power, all we need is them to optimise the game for that soc. not to mention the nvidea k1 64 bit that will be the fastest mobile processor on the market when it launches and yes i know its a tablet soc so it will kill the ipads performance as well

The iSheep will continue to flock to the shepherd despite the less than impressive hardware specs because it looks like an upgrade from their previous device.
I'll never go back to iPhone because of iOS. That's pretty much the only reason. Android is a much better fit for me because I like to have more control over my phone.
My ideal phone - snapdragon 805 or better, 1080p IPS LCD display, 2 GB of RAM, 2800 - 3000mah battery, 32 & 64 GB of memory (micro SD cards are unreliable, mine failed spectacularly after 2 years and had to be replaced by Sandisk).

iphone 6 + is the best joke of the year . Why go bigger ? they lost so many cmr's they are out of invation i mean renovation as they always used an idea that already existed and just changed it .
So buy whatever you want but don't say android phones suck because they are ruling the markets 70% of the world is android
