@ Frando....during the upgrade there is a clear warning that you should not disconnect the fon from the computer...i don't see how the cable got disconnected without someone doing it. Why dont you try to re-connect the fon and re-attempt the upgrade?

Why i download the software from pc,then it write file version:2.0.16.0,and is only 21.9mb

imho, for those shopping around for it, if you don't really need 3g and don't mind camera specs, just get the 5310 music express or even the 6500 classic, you'll save alot of money and the mentioned hassles

not to mention the sd card issue interrupts/severely slows down use of applications.

I think most of the problems I encounter with this phone hae to do with the memory card auto-eject. if the battery cover moves a little, the phone automatically detects it and 'ejects' the sd card from detection, removing your wallpaper, interrupting music play, disconnecting usb data transfer, sometimes locking my sd card, relocating file saves, and such. very annoying. i love the phone's specs and, sure, it's pretty decent, but these hassles are really making me seriously consider buying another one. i actually had to put a piece of tape discreetly on the back to minimize this, how lovely. s40 software is alot better than past OS' of nokia, but for a phone as heavy and solid as this, i definitely feel as if this phone should be doing more than basic functions; in other words, it feels under-functional for a phone of this style and weight. I'm considering getting the SE G900 or HTC touch Diamond as they are smaller and have more function.

Please can someone tell me, does this fone have a security key lock?? and can you lock folders?? so no one can route through the fone??

Pls can someone help me out? I just bought this phone, nokia 6500 slide and midway during the software upgrade, the USB cord suddenly disconnected and the phone is just showing blank. What do I do? Can it be repaired?

I bougth it a month ago.. I like it but sometimes I thought I wanted to buy N81 instead
this phone OS is S40 3rd edition, I found alot of applications I want to use but it works only with symbian .... so I don't know.
Otherwise i discover a new good things every day with it.

For the upgrade, download the software updater which u can find on the nokia website. Install that on the computer then connect the fon to computer via usb cable and open the software updater. It will automatically go to the internet, download the update (38.1mb in size) and update ur fon firmware. As for the update, i havent seen the option of keeping flash on as a flashlight

I brought this mobile in the month of may1.and everything is working fine, battery life is good but sometimes wen i try to play my video files the screen starts flashes and comes out of the player and says contacts not ready.but overall its working fine except that problem and i dont know wats cozing that.

This phone is pretty good i suppose, great camera, looks, music plays well, it just seems to change the background the white all the time and it gets really annoying changing the wallpaper again, as well as sometimes its really slow to open images and the buttons dont work for like 5secs, its really annoying. but other than that, its great.
