I don't know why all of you have trouble with the IR port. I just bought a 6610i phone and it's working great... including IR port. It's a simple and very practical phone. I'm very pleased with it!

i thougt that the infrared was working but 2 my suprise it didn't. what can i do cause i heard that i can crack it with a pc suite if it's true PLEASE HELP Me

The infrared work on 6610i with PCsuite ... go to infrared setting and change the profile ... and find the one that works ... i dicovered accidentaly ... contact me if you have doubts

It seems that everyone on this portal is worried only about the Infrared or Bluetooth. There are lots of other interesting and good things on a mobile phone other than Infrared or BlueTooth.

i got this 6610i as a present just 2 days ago and im pissed off to the max cause the infrared isn't working... looks like everyone is having that problem? its a cool phone but its so annoying that the infrared doesn't work, i wish someone could help out because it cost $250 and what the infrared doesnt work how crap!!!! im so off it so please wb and tell me how it could work.. NOT HAPPY!!!!

y doesn't the infered work. i am so angry an anyone tell me how 2 work the infered. i no how 2 turn it on(thats sounds rong)but then it wont work???? and the camera isan't that crash hot. i am only 13 and i saved up 4 this 4 lik 3months. and now i fell as if i have been screwed 4 my money and get nothing!!!!! Angry or WHAT???

I have used it and it for is a very good phone. I will summarize the plusses and minusses.
PLUSSES: Nice design, 500 phone numbers, speaker phone, easy use of keys, acceptable kind of ringtones.
MINUSSES: absolutely useless camera feature (okay i dont need a nikon or olympus in a phone, but atleast it should be as good as a similarly priced samsung or sonyE.) slight lack of voice clarity, not related to reception, but related to speaker when using it in the regular(non-speaker phone) mode.
All in all i recommend this phone if camera is not your priority.

Well this phone is not that much attractive People getting problems with recieving files from their laptops, here is the solution fr it. Don't just send the files, just select, copy and paste them in folders you want.

I just bought this phone and to my greatest dissapointment the infrared doesn't work, i read lots of complaint about this, i feel cheated cos i specifically bought the phone cos of irda. Pls is there anything we can do to make the irda recieve images and sounds? pls mail me bildris@yahoo.com cos am really down cos of this development.

I had purchase Nokia 6610i 2 weeks back but it is observed that still infrared is not activated due to which i could not able to download the photos.
Do the needful in this regard at the earliest as possible

i have Nokia 6610 for about 2 weeks now and disappointed to find that the infrared does not work, you can not recieve anything through infrared,and i can see its almost everyone's complaint. I feel cheated, and for the price i got it for, i think i have been given a raw deal

i have Nokia 6610 for about a year now and The only problem is that when i activate my infrared it doesn't seem to receive the files from the other phones and my laptop, why does this happen and how do i solve it ? I heard that there are some softwares to crack the phone's that property but I even can't connect my GSm via a datacable.PLEASE help me.

Hey Esther ,
nokia 6610 and 6610i allows only the calender notes to be transferred via infrared. My 3200 allows all kinds of transfers - be it photos, notes anything .. this is what I tried with a friend's 6610i and only the notes transferred ... Check out with the nokia people..
