i have Nokia 6610 for about 2 weeks now and disappointed to find that the infrared does not work, you can not recieve anything through infrared,and i can see its almost everyone's complaint. I feel cheated, and for the price i got it for, i think i have been given a raw deal

i have Nokia 6610 for about a year now and The only problem is that when i activate my infrared it doesn't seem to receive the files from the other phones and my laptop, why does this happen and how do i solve it ? I heard that there are some softwares to crack the phone's that property but I even can't connect my GSm via a datacable.PLEASE help me.

Hey Esther ,
nokia 6610 and 6610i allows only the calender notes to be transferred via infrared. My 3200 allows all kinds of transfers - be it photos, notes anything .. this is what I tried with a friend's 6610i and only the notes transferred ... Check out with the nokia people.. Guess, you are calling from Bangalore (STD code : 080)... Call up your the Nokia customer care helpline based in Bangalore on 30303838. They'll guide you.

I've been using this phone for about 3 months now but the problem is that the infrared is non-functional. Please i NEED to use my infrared. The phone is nice but the picture resolution is not clear at all. My phone number is 08037515431. Thanks.

Its a nice phone and i am a customer too and i willing to buy this phone at the cost of the seller and i wanna know also what are the next thing to do as regards the claiming of this phone....

I had this phone for about two weeks. It was a good phone but I didn't like it. It was my first camera phone so my expectations were a little higher. The phone's camera should have been VGA and the display a TFT. Again the infrared doesn't work at all, its a total crap. While using GPRS the phone frequently hangs and shuts down. Well I don't say its a bad phone but I was not satisfied thats it.

i have been using it from last one year. It has following deficiencies Irda not works with my sigma Irda, camera suks, phone helds while receiving call.
Pls any body let me know that how can i send/receive mails through my outlook using GPRS. which data cable i should buy.

It is such a wonderful phone, probably among the best from Nokia in terms of design, convenience of use, looks etc. I lost one but bought the same phone again, in the new (i) version Nokia could have easily made it a 65k clr phone along with some reasonable memory, it would have been great.

i have this fone for 5 months 8 days 5 hours 45 minutes n 29 secondz, in my opinion if this foen has a vga camera ,blue tooth n voice memo so it will be a great foen but it lack these features n inspite of that i will say that overall it is a good not great but atleast good fone

I bought 6610i 2 days ago. Of course IrDA was one of the things I bought it for. So as many are asking questions, I will answer: Nokia has blocked IrDA to recieve multimedia on phonephone basis. But the transfer of games, apps, midi, jpeg etc is working when transmitting to computer. I use SigmaTel chipset based IrDA USB adapter with my Windows 2000 machine. Nokia PC Suite and Oxygen Phone Manager 2.7 works perfectly with it. Maybe some hacked firmware could do the trick by unblocking the potential this phones' hardware has. My rating is 8/10. Very good, nice looking, perfectly working. A pity it has not bluetooth :(

The nokia 6610i is the best mobile i have ever seen, its not heavy and its a good size. i think im going to buy one.

nokia 6610i good looking , but functions is not so good as the other phone have in this range.
we can not recived the image,sound and ring tone via infrared,
also its camera is not so good.
