for all you guys that are complaining about erratic battery life....try this:
hold down the menu key for a few secs and see how many apps are open in the background. it should pop up a window on your left.
the more you have running in the background the more battery life it will consume.
its been officially 72 hours since my E50 was fully charged and i still have 4 out of 6 bars for my battery strength.
i made 2 phone calls via the handset and 3 more via BT headset. played around with the setting a little as well. and also 8 sms messages.
so 4 bars left after 3 days of light ~ medium use is pretty darn good to me. at this rate it will last another 3 days with the same usage.

excellent phone. perfect sychronisation with my email exchange (using mail for exchange v.1.3) including calendar, email and contacts.
Only problem is I cannot disable the autolock feature (maximum 15mins!) - it has been sent as a security feature from my server I suspect. Ideas?

Got my hands on one yesterday.
Points I noticed:
- Great form factor
- Below average feel (joy stick is sticky and on/off button is crappy)
- Extended battery is not available in Bnagalore
- Will go far once nokia fixes the s/w bugs
- One addition that would make this phone a killer is stylus input (obiously with a bigger screen) . Why cant nokia make a phone that will also replace the little note book I carry in my pocket to jot down things.

answer to a previous query:
1. this phone does have a to-do list. you can set them from calendar
2. The voice button is located in the right edge of the phone. it's the first(top) button on the right edge of the phone when it is facing you.

Does anyone knows how can I turn off the camera shutter sound ? thx for responds.
Good design, light and very thin for a Nokia.
Camera is avarage. Phone works faster than I expected. Big screen.
But just for men.
Looks so macho .)

just because yours does not last more than 2 days does not mean we are all having the same problem.
go and exchange yours. my battery works fine.
as for picture caller ID there is a program called Full Screen Caller ID that give you a fullscreen ID when someone calls provided you assign a pic to your contact. works great for me.

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!!! I have to charge every day/2 days with no Bluetooth, no E-Mail, no Web Browsing. You will get nowhere near the advertsied 6 1/2 hours of talk time. 45 minutes if you're lucky. A phone which has a battery that doesn't allow you to make phone calls is worthless. REPEAT - DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!!

E50 the last of non N series is piculiar n faults, speaker turns on without press ad Fonts r tooo tiny to read, this aspect is so balatant where were the ThinkTanks when the tested or manufactured it.
Batt life is very average, why cant they invent what old models 3310 had.
Nokia must consider this forum The Best to Get Users response BUT they r arrogant======

I have to charge my E50 battery every 48 hours (2 days) even with very light use, is this normal? I thought the battery life is good.......I disagree

Does this phone support photo caller id? But the real photo caller id, over the entire width of the screen, not just the tiny non legible thumbnail! It is a very important feature of the phone for me, because I have to put the glasses on when someone calls me... I am used to this feature with cheap Siemens phones (like C65), and other models of the same brand.
