I just bought the E51 a few days ago and to me its a great phone. Its almost as good as a PDA phone but much smaller and more attractive in looks. Here are some features that you wont read on the specifications list.....

    > The video time is only limited to the memory size (finally Nokia broke the 12sec mark!)

    > SMS messages receaved can be automaticly voice spoken to you buy the phone itself..

    > Numbers can be blocked from those you dont want calling you.

    > Back light can be adjusted to 1min instead of the standard 15sec.

    > It has a power saver time-out.

    > Your tex letters can be adjusted to 3 sizes.

    > The colors are cristal clear

    > It has a voice aid which allows you to HEAR your phone entries and other functions on the phone.

    > It has more short cut keys than you need which can be adjusted to your preference.

    > Tones can be adjusted to sound 3D or sound higher or lower pithes etc.

    > Phone light is automaticly dimed or brightened depending were you are.

    > It has a small white flashing light on the top left corner to indicate a message has been received, can be adjusted to flash up to 2hrs or to have no flash at all(its handy if your phone is on silent mode)

    > It has a cartooned tutorial that shows you the use of each key.

    > You can tranfer software (tones, tex messages, photos) from one phone to another with its software via blue tooth, I did it with a 6600 it worked perfectly.

Well there are just too many features to explain but I mentioned the main ones, most of the features I probably wont use.
The E51 has no games but you can download from the internet.
I would be cautious before upgrading from Ver-100 to-Ver 200 because so many people have had problems with the new version, I sudgest if you are having no problems with the first version then no need to upgrade. Not all have this problem but there is no gaurantee so dont take the risk unless you are sure.
Also buy the silver one it looks better than the black one.
Also do not remove the plastic film from the camera lens or the phone screen keep it on as long as you can to save it from scratches, I dont know if you can by new covers for these (I doubt it!)

Well I hope this info was helpful to anyone that may still question to buy one. Just buy an E51 you wont be disappointed and those who knock it probably dont own one.
    God bless you

I'm a teenager from South Africa and I thought that you might want to get an opinion from a 17 year old male from Cape-Town SA.

Let's face it: Teenagers are the buyers of phones in this generation(in SA anyway)... In other words: The E51 is a perfect phone for all our(teenager's) needs. With "needs" I mean we need a mobile way to get access to F@cebook or Mx!t (and other stuff). That's where the business part of this phone comes in handy. We need the 3G and Wi-Fi(Wireless Fidility) technology(Not that it's the only phone that has those things) to live and actually have a social life.
And besides, it's a strong phone(If you're younger than 19 but older than 14 then you might like to get to your home and slam the door and throw the door with your cell(It wont break)(Not like you would be angry at the phone or anything)).

A down side to the phone is the low sound. I like to turn my previous phone very lowd while listening to mp3's. But I guess that's why my mum baught me this phone. But then again: You can actually play mp4's on the phone, and I'm grateful for that.
I think that the fact that you only get a 512 Mb Memory card with it is a bit of a set back (If you are a big Seether and Nightwish fan). Once I got the 512 Mb Memory card, I gave it to charity (Poor guy thaught it was a chip that you can literally eat). The phone should come with at least a 1 Gb card.

Who needs a girl when you have mobile and cheap Internet(3G HSDPA, WLan(Wireless Local Area Network)(If you are near a hotspot)) to chat with them anyway?
Who needs the constant recharging of a laptop when you can have the constant exhuberant bar in the palm of your hand(Nokia E51)?
Who needs alcahol when you can get crazy with the E51?
Who needs a mum to tell you what to do when you have an extatic, lite, smart and small cell in your hand to give you scheduled timing of things to do(You'll never miss or dissapoint any girl in your whole life again).

I just joked about the girl thing, but you get the idea: It's an exellent phone. So If you're a mother and want the best for your teenager, buy him a nokia E51 (and add a coupon of R500(RSA)(About 64$(US)) to Musica).

Excuse my spelling, I'm only seventeen... Bye

Hi everyone. I finally had to upgrade my phone from a Nokia 6600 to an E51 and I believe I made the right choice. The old 6600 are still VERY good and reliable phones, the only problem I had was to replace the bluetooth after a few years but after dopping it so many times Im not suprised.
Well I am very happy with the E51 and the only dissappointment is that the sound speaker is positioned right on the top middle of the back of the phone which makes the sound very low when it is put down so I have to make sure it is positioned right in order to get the full volume, they should of put the speaker on the left or right top corner, I guess they had to compromise the position to make it such a thin phone, also it would be good if it had "Timed Profiles". But I can live with that. The connection to the computer is great with a direct cable.

If it wasnt for the nokia E51 I would of changed to another brand because so many other nokia phones (not all) are not to my expectations with so many faults and so called factory problems (mainly software).
Together me and my wife have had about ten nokia phones starting from the 5110i to our last upgrades, the E51 (mine) and the 2760 (wife) and they are both great phones.

If you do get an E51 I suggest you buy the silver one not the black because it will chip or scratch off and your phone will look cheap then, so I got the silver one with no paint.

Persoanly I beleive the E51 is selling at a great price considering what you get and I beleive it will be a classic like the 3210, 6600 etc so this is a phone worth buying, lots of shops are selling them like hot cakes so if you are in doubt just buy it. I spent almost 3 days reading reviews online from different parts around the world and in general there were hardly any complaints compared to other Nokia or other brand phones.

No phone company will ever include all the features you like, if they did they would no longer sell anymore phones. But trust me this phone is a great buy you wont be dissappointed. I intend on keeping this phone for at least 2 or 3yrs or more.

My advice to you all before you buy a phone (any brand) just check up the specks and all the opinions of others to see the good points and the bad then average it out and make your decisions. This website has been a great help in buying my last 5 or 6 Nokia Phones and We have had a good run.

In Coclusion, I have had no majors problems with Nokia, just make sure you read the reveiws before you buy.
            God bless you all.

I tested my phone to see if the camera's shutter sound would still be executed AFTER setting the profile to silent.

RESULT: NO sounds are heard in SILENT MODE.

Winura, 24 Jul 2008Mine is made in Finland. and i updated mine with the latest... morewell it doesn't matter where your phone made of, as long your Phones product code from some where else. on this page i used Euro-1 firmware product code. you can check your product code under the battery. match with this pages forum's code with your one, so that you can find out where it belongs to. if its Arabic or APAC regions then you still getting the Shutter sound. if its EURO-1 Bingo!

                                  To KIRK:

"The charge process of a lithium-ion-polymer is similar to lithium-ion"

That info was taken from one of the very links you posted.

Li-ion & Li-po batteries aren't exactly the same thing even though the charging is similar.

Don't say another term for Li-po is Li-ion.

                                  They are labelled differently.
