I migrated from a good Audiovox 5600 smartphone to a Nokia E62 last year. I like the Symbian OS but the E62 was slow...and hefty. So I got a N75 last fall, and since I hardly ever listen to music on a phone I decided to give the E51 a try.
The E51 runs circles around my previous Nokias. It is lightning fast. Excellent sound quality. Superb tactile feel. The size is just right, as is the weight.

It feels solid, and I hope so because I want to keep this one for years.

I have had the Nokia E51 for about 4 weeks now. All I can say is, "what an awesome phone". I have absolutely no problems, signal indicator shows better signal than I have ever had with any previous phone. Switches seemlesly between networks, call quality is absolutely perfect, no background noise or hiss whatsoever. Processor is very fast for the applications it runs and switches between apps. with no problems. Build quality of the phone is outstanding. For the price it definitely rivals some higher end phones. Keep up the good work Nokia, I'm definitely a hooked Nokia user, don't go cheap on me now and start making junk like some other phone manufacturers.

Muhanad, you battery last for just 1 day? That's terrible. I think you should take it back to the shop.

My E51, with normal usage, lasts for about 3days. If I use the WiFi and Bluetooth to a minimum, it can last up to 4days.

But during the first 2 wks, as the battery gets "conditioned", it lasted for 2 days only. Just ensure that you only charge the batt when the warning message pops up. Charging time should be between 2.5 to 3hrs. Don't overcharge. This is the tip to good battery management, not just for phone, but for any other rechargeably batts.

you can find tons of apps and games for symbian S60 3rd on the net. a bunch of them are even free and working smoothly

this is a superb phone. built with durable materials. has everything a businessman expects and its reasonably priced. even though this is not a multimedia phone the 2mpxl cam is very good. and the video resolution is also a bit higher than you get from other 2mpxl cam phones (176x220). and the sounds are immensely loud. i really am surprised by its sounds. bought this in india but using in sri lanka. paid only 11000 indian currency. that is less than 315 US dollars.

don't hesitate to buy. and for the ones who have already bought and have started complaining that you don't have this and that, go through the manual 1st.

saw someone had told this doesn't have a call timer. this has a call timer as well as an in call timer. refer your manual for more details.

I don't intend to offend anybody, but i'm not really getting the point why you'd want to buy a business phone if you're looking for intensive multimedia features, or a tic-tac-toe interface...
There's e.g. the N-series stuffed with multimedia, or plenty of other simplier handsets for those who never want to browse the manual.
For the use this phone is built for, in it's class, it seems nearly perfect for now, one must admit. I own an E50, love it, but this is the phone in which all the E50's problems, worth to mention, were corrected (an over-enthusiast designer fired...?). I could mention a few tricks from the good old Siemens S65 though wich this phone lacks, but then again, no other phone has them anymore...
(Btw, you can cycle through the T9 outputs with the * key. And if you don't like the order in which the phone gives them to You, just use it for a while with patience, and the order will change automatically, according to the prevalence of the words you usually choose, even with your custom added words.)

                              Hello

I was thinking about the N82.. but now ive fallen in love with this little competent machine.. E51!! Has everything i possible could need, Wlan, Edge, HSDPA (turbo 3G), Radio, Good batterylife etc.. all wrapped up in a nice "metall-body"

The price are also neat, about 350$
Going to buy one next week!

                              But please!!

Can someone POST PICTURES taken with the E51?? So we all can see camera-quality!!

                              Thanks!

Hey guys, here's my review on the Nokia E51.

The criteria for my decision was size, battery life, wifi, mp3. I wanted a GOOD phone that actually worked and didn't need to be charged everyday.

I can say now that this has satisfied my needs. While it's not marketed as a phone with bells and whistles, it has everything you need (wifi, camera 2mp,video, mp3). It has a very loud speaker as well.

Love this phone... by the way, it's also constructed very well. Stainless steel back plate and rim. What more could you ask for?
I would give this phone a 10 out of 10.

                                Drawback:
                                1. I can't find a case for it although i do have a screen protector on.
                                2. The Earphone jack is a mini, as apposed to the standard 3.5mm so you have to buy an adaptor to put any aftermarket buds in.
3.Mp3 software is medeocre. Instead of playing a song and cycling through your list of tracks using the forward key, you have to compile playlists...but small price to pay while everything else is stellar.

Sal! Many friens said that E51 is better than 6234. Is that true?...

This handset is made in Finland. The device is excellent quality. With most Nokia handsets being made in Korea or China it is easy to see why this handset is a winner. I have been using it for 2 months and I must say its the bet Nokia I have used in 5 years.
