etonbears, 02 Aug 2013I don't think that Microsoft want Nokia to fail. What they ... more
You are partial right but in the past Nokia never had such policy of excluding competition, they dominate the market by sherr amount of supeority in evry sector:inovation, hardware, software etc. Now he is no more in control of the software and things are stil bad, like in the biginning of the partnership. Microsoft is like a pimp to Nokia, alas "*lumia*" tranlate't means harlot.

My mother bought reacently a samsung note 2 and it is such a balance package:price/hardware/software.-hmm...what is Nokia doing? i am so disgust with Microsoft and their skympy tactics.
About meego OS, i was thinking buying a jolla phone with sailfish OS but i'm not to confident with this olso, atleast for now

The only thing I liked about WP8 is the fluidity of the OS. I used Lumia 520 for a while, but was surprised to see no lag whatsoever despite of the very low 512 MB RAM. With the same 512 MB RAM, Xperia U lags like anything. Wish Android was as fluid as WP8.

I always find it hard to understand why Android heads have so much venom;with WP esp Nokia!I'm starting to believe that guys are being paid to give negative criticism which has no basis. Objectivity

AnonD-12498, 02 Aug 2013Fools like me r still buying lumia phones. i bought lumia ... moreI have a Lumia 920 since January and I came from Android, I won't go back to Android cause I like this OS more than any other OS. It's about your own preferences, so it's just an opinion to say it's a waste of money to buy an WP8 phone. Sorry to hear you're not happy with your phone, but there are plenty who are, so it's not a waste of money at all.

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2013"*just be patient with them and Microsoft*" ... moreI don't think that Microsoft want Nokia to fail. What they want ( like most companies ) is dominant [client] market share, which they can leverage into their server and services businesses.

The company culture was built on the premise that excluding competition is the most effective way of building this position, since it worked with Windows on the desktop. So they try it everywhere else.

It is much the same with Apple and Sony, for example, except they attempt to own their customers more through hardware lock-in, so generally their software development reacts well to real issues. Microsoft generally does not have the hardware lock mechanism (XBox excluded), so they use their software to exclude competition. Sadly, this tends to result in their development efforts addressing their revenue needs above customer needs.

I like Nokia as a hardware company, but didn't like Symbian, and don't like Windows. I would have preferred them to continue with Meego or adopt Android, and shall not consider buying Nokia again until they do offer an open, interoperable software platform.

                                i bought lumia 920 at 35k,
and now if i want to sell , only max 13k i can get.

lumia1020 can be only best camera phone.
but also worst smartphone of 2013.

there is no notification pannel, no opera mini, no customization , no proper file manager, no proper videp player , no true multitasking , IE browser not up to the mark, no proper downloader ,
interface is smooth but not that fast, can't change theme, can't change ui , no asphalt8:airborn, mc5 wil came, no update in mc4, no gangstar vegas and rio, no gta3,vc. , no subway .
lots of usefull apps from ios, android are not on wp8

u will feel boaring with wp8.

That's the problem, after 3 years of patience there is no more time, no more sales,no more trust, no more... Nokia is shrinking to China and dying on the way and the worst part is that Microsoft thasn't seem to change or care. People demand in the update ABC features and they bring EFG feature, so the critical problems remain always unsolved. Like up to now the future update will solve nothing, it is like they want Nokia to fail.

Second it's called a STARTphone it's not a ordinary phone. I believe your stuck in the 90's, quit trolling. If your looking for a basic phone just to make calls, go buy those old Nokia flipphones. I believe that's what your looking for. You'll be waisting your money buying these phones as your not using these phones to there true potential.
