Although your Lumia 520 running GDR3 Preview for Developers, at least you can do close app (X) now (very nice feature), screen rotation on/off, drive mode.

my etra info show Lumia Amber. and my version firmware is 3046.0000.1329.10...? i still confuse? what is the update of extra info? well, i show the update at the store after that i updated but nothing changed.

Maybe Microsoft has other solution instead of file manager. A better Internet Explorer, maybe next Internet Explorer 11, can do download and upload is important for users too.

I have used Lumia 520 for 5 months and now I back to Android. Whatever, if you like smooth performance, almost no lag, don't care about file manager and lack of apps and games, you can choose Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices. Better you go for Lumia 720 or higher Lumia 920 or 925, it would be very good choice.
And maybe you should consider Lumia 1320 or 1520, they have newest firmware.
