Tom209, 02 Feb 2023How can you judge the build quality of the G73, when it has... moreThere were no Data breaches, there were phones intended for China that were sold in europe, if that was a hmd Mistake or someone elses, nobody will ever know. it could aswell be an inside job to do harm, or just pure careless logistics, if you refering to connections to chinese servers fiasco.
Charging ports problem are not only to be found on nokia devices, there are literally thousends of pages with people complaining about the charging port, no mater what brand.
I, my self did not have the problem with my devices, but i had somebody in the family with the problem. I blame the problem on the connection plates used in this slots. I do not know who made the slots but out of my experience i could fix the problem easily by cleaning the port with a toothbrush and isoprophyl alcohol. This would habe fix the problem for about a month and then it came again, the problem was also created by the cable, not only the port, with an older cable (which yeah, is not how it supposed to be) the device charged better. I presume that the connection plates were not made of gold as they supposed to be, but out of something cheaper, or Gold with more impurities that got oxidated for some reason, thus creating connection interruptions. In this period a lot of other devices had charging problems, so i presume that the manufacturer of the ports got greedy, and delivered subpar quality.

    Tom209, 01 Feb 2023I find the Motorola G62's LCD display is more refined,... moreYou might be right there, hmd, for whatever reason did not use the pure black tech lately, i would blame them for that, but well, maybe they just think that is not worth the money, because who wants lcd buys lcd anyway and no matter how good lcd can be, amoled biased, will stop buying if LCD, you know the drill here in this comment section... if you followed what i've said, you probably stumbled uppon the tones of LCD bashers, so sorry if i threw you in the same Pot with them. I actually like LCD more too, but well, i bought the x30 because of it's size and camera, and build/design. I really had hard time choosing between this one, Fairphone 4 and nokia G60. I did not want to spend money on expensive devices anymore, but landed on the more expensive one again. Well, my hidden expensive hobbies.
    X30 does feal a bit slower then G60 but that's because (well at least i thinks so) because of the Optimisations. Today came a bigger update with some optimisations, but i did not install yet. G60 is (maybe was) better optimised, and that is something that i again criticize on hmd. Yeah, the devices get better and very stable in time, i'm confindetnt in that because i use their android devices since Nokia rebirth, but that does not mean that a new commer will understand that. They really need to work on this. I mean, at this moment my Wifes x20 with android 13 is more snappier then my x30. Both on 60Hz refresh rate, well i like battery more then refresh rates:D. At 90HZ the x30 is snappiert but that's not the point. The Ui should be more fluid.

    I am glad that someone takes notes on what i say, it means somethign to me, and hope i can help further.

      I haven't mentioned chrome once.

      I'm referring to core Google and Google related apps - whether that's chrome, digital wellbeing, google framework, play services etc etc

      My response/post was in direct reply to the member Carol - who likes to use googleless phones and disable all Google apps for security purposes. I was highlighting that this can also be done on a moto and isn't exclusive to HMD. 🤷‍♂️

                  The difference between me and you diehard HMD fans is, I hold no allegiance to any manufacturer. I don't care for Moto, Realme, HMD, Samsung, Oppo, Apple etc etc

                  What I do care about is the merits on and of each individual device that is released from any said manufacturer.

                  In this case - someone asked the the simple question of "G73 or X30".

                  All the HMD fanboys chimed in, in defense of the X30.

                  Therefore to bring a more balanced point of view, I simply highlighted the pros of the G73 in comparison to the X30 - and god forbid I did this, because ever since, it seems the whole swarm of HMD fanboys have come out from under the woodwork and can't handle their messiah godlike device being critiqued.

                  Worship your X30's on your altar.

                  Personally, I believe from a cost, user experience and efficiency point of view, the G73 is still better value for money overall. If y'all can't handle my opinion, then that's on you. 😁

                    digital wellbeing is not a google "app" . it's android core" tool" , like an innate part of android AOSP . hence your argument is not valid .

I... morei have no regard for online reviews . they are all rigged. i haveno regard whether you call me a fanboy . i need not prove anything to anyone . my nokia 6.1 plus was on android 10 and i had disabled chrome and installed firefox like i have done the same on every smartphone i buy . i never tried xiaomi or bbk phone so i don't know how they manage things .


                      hmd phones are not best . in fact no brand constantly makes "best phone" all the time. i believe it's utter stupidity to arbitrarily assume a company makes best product all the time .

                        You're right. I no nothing about smartphones at all, and you've now taught me that HMD is the best most secure highest quality manufacturer there is, and their devices are consistently the best..

                        How foolish of me to think otherwise. And how foolish of practically every online review based platform that gives HMD devices "average" scores - for all being so so wrong.

                        God, you HMD fanboys are just as bad, if not worse, than Apple fanboys. 🤣😅

                          Moto is only one of less than a handful of manufacturers that have consistently allowed the option to uninstall/disable system/google apps.

                          Realme, oneplus, oppo, xiaomi, SAMSUNG, TCL etc etc have not allowed this - until Android 12/13 - which by default, allows the ability to disable/uninstall "Some" system apps.

                          Prove to me you can disable the battery hogging "digital wellbeing" app on your Samsung? I'm checking on one now, and no, you can't.

                                  you said one can change google play update service , can uninstall all google apps on motorola phones . now you're saying "disable "? 😂😂😂 well breaking news buddy you can do that on any other android phone . not a moto feature . i can disable any google app on my samsung phone

                                    at least nokia and xiaomi acknowledged and fixed it as fast as they could . nokia extended warranty period of phones with weak type c port.

                                        Regarding moto's ui - you CAN disable everything google related. Via uninstall/disable apps in the menu. No adb etc required.
