Carol, 10 Nov 2022Well then, that tdoea not aound as being better😅. Morse law is a problem for old hardware with trying too run new software
In you're case you mostly owned the flagship device's of each year
Yeah it is unfortunate in the case with Nokia 9 pureview as android 11 was a promise Nokia was unable too keep
A lot of buyers brought Nokia 9 because they wanted the latest software so it was a big deal breaker for some Nokia fans
The Nokia x30 is a mid range the choose of hardware by Nokia is worrying
Hopefully it will be ok
How well the performance will age is a unknown too me and how well the hardware will hold up with the latest android versions and software
Feedback on performance will be helpful

You would think so
Android 10 on that tier of hardware snapdragon 845 &8gb ram
should be no problem
The umdigi a9 pro 8gb ram & mediatek hello p60 still
Not as powerful as the razor phone 2 also
But was on android 10 and updated too android 11 was rather smooth
(Both are stock android smartphones )
I think Google is too blame for making new android versions too heavy and hard too run
And ending support for old versions of android
It's clear Razer see things very differently too brands like Nokia
Razer nope don't meet system requirements
Flagship gaming smartphone of the time
Nokia easily let's upgrade even the budget androids phones 2 new android versions no problem
Google not set very clear system requirements for each android version
Am upset with Google as they shouldn't ended support for old android versions like 9 8 7 6 5 & 4
especially considering most android emulaters run android 7 and many old smartphones are still good today but stuck on old android versions forever

Minu, 10 Nov 2022The smoothness of a phone doesn't indicate the experie... moreThat's rather miss leading when you say it like that
Yeah stock android runs smoother on the same tier of hardware
Bloatware is a generally problem on android smartphones and can handlycap a android smartphone because of system resources being used in the background
This can be done too any smartphone as a result of having too many apps running in the background
A smartphone 3 or 4 times the price of you're Nokia 8 say a gaming smartphone will completely abliterate it in performance
Even the very old and dated red magic 3s with just 12gb ram
Still be much faster in the OS UI & browser
We are stock android fans around here so yeah we think stock android is the best
The Nubia red magic phone running red magic ul is not are prefered version of android and does have problems such as missing a app draw and having change back too button navigation
The user experience we can agrue stock android is better and it's better too get software support for many years
This is something we like about the Nokia phones yeah the phones like Nokia 8 & 9 must be a lot smoother then mine
Phones like the Nubia phones do have some special features like given you greater control over you're GPU & CPU & cooling and built in gaming mode with hardware switch
I have only used the original one
But can see sheer power of them and responsiveness of them
Even the original was so fast and responsive sensitive we struggled using it before we got more used too it's speed changed a few settings
They are beyond silky smooth I can't even imagine how fast there maximum spec latest flagship is

It should have moder... moreWell with that hardware, is very hard to believe that android 10 was to blame, with that hardware even android 15 will run smoothly as long as the developers know what they are doing. Pixel devices receive almost 5 years of os and security updates, you don't see them slowing down. Also never had a nokia slowing down, not with android, and especially not with windows phone.
So yeah, the moral of the story is, if is true what you say, that they never updated to android 10 with that hardware, well. Is them to blame, or money. Nokia 9 also has sd 845 with 6 GB RAM and never showed one lag on a10 and would still be great with android 12 if that camera fiasco would have not been an impediment.

It should have moder... moreThe smoothness of a phone doesn't indicate the experience or its potential imho. In fact there are overpriced bitten fruit logo products that have so much limitations than an average dumb phone, yet feels silky smooth.
And my Nokia 8 with just 4GB of RAM runs much faster than any Android that can cost as five times or more. Only Google chrome crashed once and that's because of having over 250 tabs open.

It should have moderate performance
The question is how smooth it will run after 1 or 2 Android version updates and people installed all of the apps they need on it
Will it be smooth enough after a year
I can't say for sure either way
I know 8gb ram & 128 ROM is minimum too be smooth
The razer brand made a gaming smartphones said how powerful they where originally later
didn't update the razer phone 2 too Android 10 the reason there given for this
was the smartphone was too underpowered too be able too run Android 10 smoothly enough
They got a lot of hate from there customers for this although as the razer phone 2 specs are Snapdragon 845 & 8gb ram

Carol, 09 Nov 2022Ok, never heard of umidigi, probably chinese corporation?umidigi yes It is chinese brand
It's got a high trust rating on trustpiolt
Although am not sure if the umidigi smartphone can be classified as brand name smartphones or not they have a generic clone feel too them
The umidigi a9 pro 8gb ram we have comes up on phone finder as a Samsung a9 pro from 2016 on gsmarena
This kinda is rather common weirdness and strangeness often find on generic clones smartphones it trick gsmarena that it is a smartphone that it clearly is not
My best guess is everything manufacturered in China
and it's a clone phone ?
so is umidigi using spare left over motherboards from other brands or spare parts just put together inside a umidigi named body and screen idk

Carol, 08 Nov 2022A questioning the devices they owe, how much they cost and ... moreSometimes a good device Is cheaper then a more expensive device
It was so impressive we thought it was too good to be true at the time
The umidigi a9 pro 8gb ram a year ago did blow are minds how good it was for the given price it was selling for at the time
We had smartphones from Samsung apple Xiaomi & sony in the house family owned at similar price they cost but the umidigi a9 pro 8gb ram out class them all
It could even hold its own up against mid range from Xiaomi in performance one of my sisters got a Xiaomi X3 NFC on sale for 230 pound
So the umidigi was in the same tier as the Xiaomi but only cost 135 pound nearly half the price on top of that it's free of blootware and ads on top
All of the old flagships and budget smartphones are out classd by the umidigi a9 pro 8gb ram we had
The umidigi a9 pro
It's OS & UI are stock Android it's not the most refined software it's slightly buggy but it's a good experience too use and fast and system stability is good
But today it's much more expensive and the modern version the umidigi a13 pro are selling over 200 pound in the uk
Not ever smartphone at the same price point is equal
Often bargain hunting is how we have gotten such good deals

Minu, 08 Nov 2022That's why it's totally worth buying Nokia phones... moreTrue yeah
I did try too buy the better versions
I do agree
base models are never worth it and shouldn't even be made
different storage & ram versions of the same smartphone just shouldn't exist it's sneakly and bad
The problem is every time you go too buy the good version is out of stock so the seller trys too send the crap version instead
It's all too easy for all of the smartphone too get mixed up as well as all the smartphones look the same as each other on top
The normal person won't even be able tell the difference between them
The Chinese brands are the worsened of all for this as they fake specs on top or change out parts from one production sample too another
Only the tech reviewers get the silicon lottery winner smartphones with highest quality parts
Hidden downgrades are made after this for the general consumers who have too live with the smartphones
So many things big tech industry does that really does hurts the customers

I won... moreThat's why it's totally worth buying Nokia phones as new old stock.
And try making it a rule of thumb not to buy the base models of which phone you are going to buy. If you had gone for the 4GB RAM variant, it would be totally worth it
And I believe there's some way to downgrade the OS

I won't be recommending Nokia unless Nokia smartphones unless there really cheap like Alcatel
My mum really does hate the Nokia brand
So I won't get her another one
All of my family does hate the Nokia brand for some reason or another
So yeah alternative brand phone it is
I care about the customers not the brand
Myself am very concerned about the new Nokia phones

zaryan, 08 Nov 2022the 4gb variant of g10 is little bit better on Android 12 ... moreYeah
Nokia needs too increase the ram amount in future budget smartphones they make & ideally the battery size
Manufacturing costs of ram is a cheap part in today's market so maxed out the supported ram on processor is the what Nokia should be doing
Also battery are cheap in manufacturing costs
So Nokia should just put 6000mah 7000mah or 8000mah batterys inside there smartphones
Nokia shouldn't really make smartphones with batterys under 5000mah ideally Nokia should make removable batterys and sell replacement batterys
There's are both easy improvements Nokia can make
Nokia smartphones are supposed too last for years so
Nokia does need too future proof the battery so the battery life is still good enough after 3 years & ram for future android versions
