Vaughan. It is a very solemn day for me today. The X3 will not turn on with a SIM card inserted. Works fine without though... :( I'm not sure what I'm going to do though. Take it back and get a refund, or get another phone. But I think im going to get another x3 though... i have the memory card now!

yeh this phone looks gr8 but i hav sgarp gx30i which i think is much betta. only prob wiv it is thats its on vodafone and vodafone r dickehads

Seems as though most of you are in the wrong place to be talking about other phones. I know the X3 has rubbish camera quality and a few bugs, so? If you dont want it then dont get it, if u dont like it, thats ur opinion. Ur all getting worked up about a phone. Most likely u'll be saying ur next phone u get is gona be best in the world.
Theres no phone out on the market that every one can agree on cus not all phones ofer the same features. To be honest its all very well saying my phones got this and that but half the time u probably might not be using it.

Who said the SPV was a good phone? I had one, and it was the worst phone I've ever experienced. Constant software crashing, bad display, bad design. No, no, computer says no. And yes, to keep Nick happy, there was dust under the screen. :) I tried to flog it when I changed contracts and nobody would buy it, so I did the sensible thing - took it out into the garden, shot it with an air rifle, took pictures and posted them on the Net. Yes, I am easily bored.

Bluetooth. WOW... 9.6 Kbps modem capabilities and 5-10 metre range! God, I'm really missing the fact I can send files at 5 kbps to other phones.
K700i I admit is a good phone, but again it has its bugs!
So, I sound a right Tit, do I. You are complaining on an open forum about the x3, not even leaving your name! Instead of slating off the phone, get a different handset! Don't keep coming on here throwing your unnamed weight around praising every other phone under the sun!
OK, I havent been up with the prices recently on phones, but to be honest I dont really care. The X3 is the phone that suits me most, and so, I like it! The SPV may be a good phone but again, the dust problem, VGA cam etc etc.
And FYI if you ACTUALLY KNOW HOW to take photos with a phone camera, you will see that the photos you take aren't all that bad! And another thing... dont slate off a phone just because its got a not-so-good camera! Look at the T610 camera, then look how many people have got the phone and like it! Just because its a not-so-good camera doesn;t mean yopu can give it a bad reputation! Look at the other features... Java MIDP2, MP3 player, UNLIMITED video, memory cards, then look at the K700 features... Bluetooth (boner), Java MIDP1, MP3 player (not v good), max of around 4 mins video recording, memory cards? I think not!
But I have one thing to say about the SPV...

The VGA setting on the X3 is excellent! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the VGA camera function!
HERES A TIP, LOOK AT THE PHOTO SAMPLES FROM THE MOTOROLA E1000, AND THAT HAS A GOOD REPUTATION! Don't give this phone a bad reputation because of the blurryness of the camera. Yeah, OK, it might be a bit FUZZY (look it up most recent Unknown, ZZy not SSy!!!) but thats not a problem for someone looking for a good looking phone. Come on! The X3 mp3 player is actually AUDIBLE in a crowded street! K700 isn't.

aha the 100th post and nothing is resolved get yourselfs the orange spv c500 for everything you need,from unlimited mpeg4,3gp,vid to mp3 steroer thru some meaty bass stereo h/phones windows media player packet video player bluetooth the lot and good battery ive never owned a phone so good

There are various oppinions here and I agree with with you all, there are weakness but then there are strenghs of the O2 X3, it can't multi thread in some cases meaning do more than one operation, you can only listen to mp3 and do other things but u can say for stupid example go for a jog, put the stop watch on and listen to ur mp3. But really and truthly its a good gadget, I wich there where applications available for it to use, like nokia have applications. Its missing blueThooth , If O2 made the exact same model with bluethooth, got rid of the anoying door bell ringtone, made it into a symbian phone, id buy it as soon as it was available.

I have an O2 X3 , I really like the phone it does what I want it to do, but I have memory cards for it but what I really want to do is put mp4 video clips to watch on long journys. I have a few mp4 video clips but very small the quality is excellent, I though I was watching TV at one point. If there is any one that has had luck converting an AVI file in mp4, that works with the o2 X3 please can u let me know.

Someone asked about ringtones? If you have MP3 ringtones and they are currently in your playlist, you need to deselect them before they will play as a melody. No problem.
This forum is rapidly speeding downhill, people. Can we keep things civil and above the gutter, please. If you have something constructive to say about the X3, good or bad, then post away. But don't weigh in with a moronic one-liner and expect not to get slagged.

MY GOD i started lookin at this site when the phone was a couple of weeks before coming out, and basically to all those moaners, try the phone before you buy, the phone is a gadget phone it always has been if you want a good digital camera go and pay £200 for one instead of the phone. The phone has one downfall i will admit the msg tone but aside from that it is a good phone i have had no problems and to me you all sound as piccy as hell!!!!

In response to your query regarding video footage. The files need to be in an MP4 or 3GP format.
I would say a good bit of software to convert clips would be Xilisoft 3GP converter, albeit that you need to tweak the settings to get it to convert less blocky... :D
Seems to work fine for me... :D
