O2 X3

I chose this phone on the spur of the moment. I rang the o2 upgraders for a nokia 6230 and was told it would be an extra 80 quid. I got the o2 x3 knowing that if it was bad I could replace it.
But I really love it! I love the great video recording quality, most only do 15 fps but this does 30! The camera IS decent. Not amazing but just as good as others in price range.
I looked and have been looking for the last two weeks at other phones but there's always something that lets it down for me.
Motorolas? 5meg memory and no extension. WHAT!!! good phones but this single thing means its not for me. Other phones either don't do mp3's or decent video, have low or no extendable memory. The X3 simply is the phone that suits me best. Its just a damn shame there's no bluetooth. No idea why they wouldn't put that on. My next phone maybe. Until then I'm looking forwards to my next year with the X3.

Unfortunately there are absolutely no proffessional reviews for this phone on the net. At least I can't find any anyway. But I am convinced that the phone is not as good as 350 quid variants because it has a cmos sensor rather than a ccd one which is more expensive, drains battery but is better quality. I said before I had a 3.1 megapix cam but it had a cmos sensor so the quality was not great. I and many others have however managed to get good pics from the phone. It's as Allan said, people here the silly camera sound and start moving. Stay still for a few seconds after pressing the button!

I personally wouldn't pay £350 for a phone and neither would half the people in the public!

"Allan
yeah you are right in one way, as this not a camera but a 1.3 camera or phone, is still a 1.3 megpix...just look at the gx30 samsung d500 sont s700, thay are 1.3 and thay match a camera on a 1.3,
o2, there words an amazin 1.3, bollocks it cant even match a 2 year old vga cam.
plz just look at the gx30 and others the photos are not better thay are world apart, 1,3 should meen 1.3 not just in size
and i like many brought this phone because of the amazing camera, thats why i spent £200....o2x3 was fake and o2 know it, real has pissed me off,and to top that off, the phone is so so so so buggy, you lucky if you have the same phone a month, all i say is real crap,
you wont see the x3 for sale soon , it a joke.
and to the peps who like it all i can say is go and use a sony s7 or samsung d500,
price dont come into it, 1.3 should meen 1.3 ffs "
NO!
THE CAMERA SENSORS ARE CHEAPER IN THE X3 THAN IN S700 and GX30, BECAUSE OF THE PRICE DIFFERENCE!!! WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PHONE COSTING £200 AND A PHONE COSTING £350? CHEAPER COMPONENTS! SO PISS OFF!!!!!!! LOOK AT PHOTO SAMPLES FROM MOTOROLA E1000, THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, OH LOOK, SO IS THE PRICE!

Allan, thankyou!
Claire, You need a Memory Card reader to put mp3's on there. E-Mail me and I will send you links of where to get the appropriate stuff...
And you can't change the message tone *sorry*...
"you are so sad Nick, you most be real gutted, thats why you tell your self its good, yeah its good omg its good,as you cry.omfg what have i done £200 on this, its good its good"
I'm telling myself its good because it is so, not that I am "gutted" because I bought it, because I'm not, I love it! So you, go away just because YOU are gutted that YOU bought it, doesn't mean that EVERYBODY that likes the phone is gutted! Surely if you were gutted wouldn't you be haveing a go at the phone? And "when you cry".... WHAT A FUCKING STUPID THING TO SAY! You are the crybaby... wanker!

What annoys me most about this phone (apart from the low quality pictures and inability to change ringtones) is the mp3 player. You can’t actually use the phone to play mp3’s until you buy an additional miniSD to SD adaptor. (assuming you’ve got an SD port on your PC –also that is -assuming you’ve got a PC!). Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to use the supplied USB lead? Why don’t they include the miniSD adaptor?

Think I've got the answer to blurry photos on this phone. There is (as with many digital cameras) a slight delay between when you press the "shutter" button and when the image is captured. My advice is to turn off the clicky camera sound (no loss as it is bloody annoying) and you and your subject will not move immediately after hearing it (causing the blur). I have tried this today and have had much better results.
For those of you that moan about the camera not being very good, a quick couple of points......
1 This is a PHONE we are talking about, not a dedicated digital camera.
2 I don't know who the maker of the camera is, but I think it safe to assume is is not a leading manufacturer (i.e. Nikon, Canon etc) as this would be advertised heavily otherwise.
and lastly....
3 This phone is pretty small and packed with features which are all fighting for space. That's got to limit the quality, surely? Cut the X3 some slack people!
If you consider all of the above and have a re-think its not at all bad.
I await a torrent of abuse if other pro-X3 comments are anything to go by......
Just in case you think I have O2 written all the way through me like a stick of rock.....their customer service is absolutely useless.....but that's another story.

Nick :supplied card is 32Meg - most of my Mp3's are between 4 and 5 meg each - so that means a max of about 6 songs per card (what bit rate are your tracks ?)

count yourself lucky that the phone takes mp3's! some take wav files which are like 40meg a song! 32 meg should be enough to hold 10 3 minute songs at 128kbs. Methinks you might be a pink floyd fan!

Coco, ringtones change perfectly, picture quality IMHO is good, and you can buy bigger cards, and I have around 17 mp3's on the supplied card, so dont talk bollocks.
Lesley, copy both the JAR and JAD files to the Java folder on the memory card, then go to games, find the game you just copied, then press options, then Install, et voila. Your game will work!

Don't hink i'd every buy an 'O2' badged phone again - the picture quality is rubbish , the supplied memory card will only hold about three mp3's and the phone won't let me chamge ring tones !!

Hey
How can I get games on my phone? I have downloaded some with the JAD and JAR files, got the whole memory card adapter and reader thing but I can go no further than that? Don't know how to install them?

Liz, that is a problem with YOUR particular handset, not the range of them!
Almizer, I am thinking along the same lines :)
I'll keep an eye out, and I will email you with any info... email me so I can get your main address...
