i have this phone and i like it. Big screen and sharp too. The picture quality is good. The important thing is good mp3 player. If i compare it with sony ericsson w550i, pantech is waaayyy better. you can also charge it via usb cable, so u don't have to bring a charger. It can be a usb flash disk, u can drop and drag your music or picture directly without dowloading the software. Unfortunately, i don't find the shuffle function in the mp3 player and bluetooth is very slow. The other features are good.

wow Pantech in the US is garbage... if only they could actually show their potential and ship something like this over here!

truest me on this 1 please buy the Lg chocolate the pantec is a really nice phone but the chocolat is slim and really cool.I used to have the pantec buy i got rid of it for the chocolate that was the best thing that i could ever do

its great, the spec is nice, i like to buy it, but i still doubt about the quality of video, is pg 8000 have a good video record, and unlimited duration, thanks

i have read that the phone has 2MegaPixel camera with flash and " 16X " Digital zoom.

also, saw the opinion saying that the camera is 'almost better' than the samsung d600, does that mean it's NOT better?

Hey, some say can store 1gb mem. but phone spec. say up to 512mb, can someone clerify?

Hi all. I would like to post this article about the PG 8000 for all those who keep wondering about its functions and want to buy it but are hesitant. Given my experience in mobile phones as a heavy user and a journalist who writes about phones...here is a very brief comment about the phone.
In order not to confuse readers and keep them waiting to see if it is good or not..I would like to say it is really good handset in terms of functions, performance and looks. But I would like to advise those with not too strong eye sight to avoid this handset as the menu writing is too small...messages and phone book names can hardly be read while you have to train your eyes painfully to be able to read all other menu functions. I dont know why Pantech missed this point..but probably the engineers and designers have a so good eye sight that they could not notice this problem.
now to the good side. The phone works really pretty well and when you own it , you can boast that you have a very unique phone in terms of shape...but its not only shape..Pantech G8000 has another unique facility that no other phone has it-- it can read your messages...you just set this opition and a sweet feminine voice will echo out of the phone loudly when ever a message lands into the mobile...
Screen is crisp and very clear and colourful while battery life is not too bad, lasting me around two days with heavy use. Phone is about 100 gm but is pocketable and looks sturdy and light.. menu is not very complicated and becomes too easy once you manage to control it in a couple of days..
it has around 19 mb memory on board plus a 64-mb memory card bundled with it. bluetooth and infra red work really well while the MP3 has many formats and is one of the best i have ever seen. Camera is almost better than the Samsung D600 while you can record video with sound in three different formats for as long as the memory card lasts... you can assign picture or video clip as wallpaper or attach them to contact...photos can be edited and the pictures generated by the two-mega pixel camera are far better than those taken by all previous Pantech phones. Finally the phone has an FM radio, which also works very well.
I bought this phone for around 300 US dollars and I think its worth it. This is one of the most pleasant mobile phones I have ever bought. if you have strong eye sight, go for it...but if you think the tiny letters on the phone could be an annoyance, try to avoid it.

I would love to buy this phone, but I've investigated the shop B4Utele, mentioned here and they are definately to be avoided, as the phone is shipped from china, so it takes a long time and you may have to pay additional tax.
So - I'm wondering if any one could tell me - if buy a phone from America, will I be able to charge it ok, using an adapter?

I got this phone about 3 days ago... saw it in the package and already fell in love with the look and feel of it. its made in korea so it was a gamble for me but when i got it... the phone feels really really good... like its built nicely instead of the tacky feeling. Couple of things i noticed... the screen is really really sharp. I dont think the mp3 player setup is that good but it gets the job done. The sound is clear and loud. If you get black then you can see finger prints easily. Navigation is easy to use but its a bit slow at processing. I think thats the main downside to it. I took a few pictures... they look good on the phone and when i uploaded them to the computer they werent that bad but i got to say k750's picture quality is better than this phones. The software doesnt really work on my computer... i can only see the phone as a flash drive on my computer, the software to edit contacts and such doesnt quite work... it keeps saying usb connection failed. It came with a extended battery and standard battery. and the battery life itself is pretty good. reception is good as well.
Only complaints :
Processing is slow
2mp quality is mediocre
software doesnt work for me yet

This phone is better than Sony Ericsson W800i, no doubts. PG-8000 has bigger screen, better screen resolution, better network reception (one of the best in this area). W800i can only win when playing Mp3 - more functions when playing music but almost no differenc in sound quality between this 2 mobiles. I really prefer PG-8000 design, great (but i really mean GREAT, i think only HP and Sharp has better screens). I am preparing to buy on, lol. :D
