Additional note to the "Bezels" brigade: The bezel at the bottom is actually really, really useful.
Because there's space for your thumb on the front and a camera key on the edge, this is the only smartphone that I know of that allows you to take photos one-handed. Grip with your thumb and snap away.
And as it has a lanyard hole - with lanyard - (again, why do other manufacturers not include these?) I can't possibly drop it while I'm taking said pictures.

My priorities are different from yours. I don't like AMOLED displays - they suffer from screen burn, are too overblown in colours and, frankly, give me a headache. Even without Touchwiz (which I loathe) and plasticky build quality, that's enough to put Samsung mobiles out of contention for me. You may be different.
The G2 also fails on build, to me. I've played with one in store and couldn't get over how cheap it felt to hold, and the buttons at the back,.. just no.
But, beyond all of this is the camera. It's my USP of choice - I want a good camera. No, actually, I want the best camera. The Z1 delivers, hands down, the best camera on an Android smartphone to date.
The minus points on the Z1 are simply too minor to detract from this. Okay, technically it has worse battery life than the others - but it's still damned good for a 1080p screen (I routinely get 1.5 days of heavy use). Okay, it has inferior viewing angles but head-on the screen is superb. Sure, the volume of audio through headphones is a little lower but the clarity and quality is extremely high (and anything above 70% volume on the thing is painful, anyway).
So, in short, it may come in at 3rd place but them's just numbers, mate. The Z1 ticks my boxes. The Note 3 may tick yours. Choose what's good for you.

Don't you understand what he saying? Note 3 may have the highest rating among these 3 phones TECHNICALLY. But different people has different needs, as GSMarena said "..So there you have it - these three are the best of Android, and while they compete with each other for the top spot, their target groups are different enough. It's up to you to decide which feature set suits you best, because honestly, there just isn't a wrong pick here..."
Note 3 may have the best software features + S-pen, G2 may have the most compact body among the 3 and etc., but he doesn't care about these things, he rather to have a better camera on his phone + water resistance and thus he choose Z1. And Z1 doesn't too far behind in other aspects as well except the battery performance so far, but it is still acceptable for him.
Above is what I get from him, so different ppl have different needs.

I don't own LGG2, but I tried a sample when I was trying to buy a new phone. My goodness LGG2 has no premium appeal, the screen is not as good as the hype, the screen size is fitted in small body that it looks awkward(too squeezed). Even gsmarena commented on the review on s4 vs z1 vs 1020 vs HTC one.
It says "LGG2 is not the phone you would want to be seen in the wit in the public".
See, my opinion is backed up by a reliable review.

A lot of people posting positive thoughts on here are from Europe, where Sony phones sell very well. In the UK, they're the 3rd biggest smartphone seller after Apple and Samsung.

But the outstanding camera unit they've developed (plus they're the only android manufacturer to include a shutter key) and the fact that it's dust resistant and waterproof - that's not "no substance". The lighter and more elegant Android build is also a USP.
Sure their screen tech needs work but, realistically, there's very little else that separates the Z1 from those at the top of the Android pack - it's blisteringly fast, the music output through headphones is superb, it's sturdy and durable and, head-on, the screen produces a much more nuanced, sharper and accurate image than Samsung's AMOLED panels.
If you're coming to a Z1 from a 2 year old phone, it'll blow you away - that's what it's designed to do.

Samsung and sony technologies same.not just mobile industry.if u open a sony s product u can find samsungs tiny apron chipsets on the boards or toshibas which is related product to samsung.i can always trust sony or samsung technologies.but lg is not in this league.well not in mobile industry.thats my opinion as i know sony samsung and some other brands technologies well

Everyone has always claimed such efficient battery life improvements on their chips. Including past Snapdragon chips. But the S800 really surprised me in it's power efficiency. Especially for being quad 2.2-2.3GHz.
