Jakestar, 18 Oct 2013you all keep telling the same shit that Z1 have alot of dis... moreI agree with Jakestar. Except the problem that was mentioned. There is no problem in Z1, the camera is superb, battery life for me is fine, apps or UI is wonderful, in my opinion the device is a beast, it's just waiting to show its full potential. Just a few twicks and it will shake things up. And right, thats what update is for.. i also think that all of device is actually pretty awesome but i'll go with XZ1
Cheers!

[deleted post]You believe that always biased fail site - PhoneAxxxx?
PhoneAxxxx trying the best shoot down any Samsung phone by even give false result of Note 3 screen quality. Such site only you will believe on it.
Note 3 screen quality has been review accurate in color and great brightness by professional site: DisplayMate, & Anandtech, as well here, also plenty others site. PhoneAxxxx is the only site said Note 3 inaccuracy in screen color and weak brightness.

rj23, 18 Oct 2013The forever Samsung troll. You haven't really changed since... moreThanks rj23 - couldn't have put it better myself.
Yes, those are my opinions. It is my opinion that touchwiz and (to a lesser extent) LG's UI's are childish and garish to look at. You'll find that I am far from alone in that opinion (indeed, it's noted frequently in reviews of both devices).
But then again, that's the wonder of man - such diverse opinions. And god speed to all the Touchwiz fans: enjoy your device :)

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2013G2 is better than z1.On benchmarks? No, it isn't. Because of the way the XZ1 prioritises the GPU in certain tasks, it benchmarks higher than the G2 in just about every comparison I've seen.
Not that benchmarks mean a jot when we get to this level of processor power. Simple fact: all of these phones will power through just about everything with no trouble whatsoever - though I HAVE seen a Note 3 stutter (and it has been noted in a couple of online reviews). That's just a launcher thing, though - I expect Samsung to fix that with an update.
If you're meaning "generally" then I'd say that it depends greatly on what is important to you - nice viewing angles and tonnes of features? The G2 is better. Superb camera, great feel in hand and waterproofing? Z1 every time.

I would pick sony z1 but the problem is its too big for a 5" phone. Sony should try to shrink it a little next time but still retain the 5" screen.

The forever Samsung troll. You haven't really changed since the release of GS4 huh? The cartoonish UI among the three is Samsung's and why judge someone else's preference to be childish? You act more childish the way you comment and defend Samsung as if you know everything in this world. STFU and get a life! I have a 4 day old Note 3 and I should say it has everything that I need but I won't get to the point where I will bash others' opinions just to defend what I have. Z1 and G2 are both great phones in their own rights and I still prefer their designs over my Note 3 but I have to say that Note 3's design has come a long way with the faux leather on the back that made its design much cooler than the previous Galaxy designs. Samsung has set the Note 3 in a different way this time but still has a lot of work to improve in the design department. I bet the Lumia 1520 and the Liquid S2 by Acer are gonna be the best designed phones for 2013.

Putting this 3 phones together is fair enough.
Even Note 3 is consider under category of Phablet, but is that really big? Not exactly, Z1 total body size does not small, it is kind of similar size with Note 3 even though it is 5" screen.

I'll go for g2.
A bigger screen always means alot to me, but the snapdragon 800 version of note3 Is not available in our region, so g2 it is.
P.s: great review, well done Gsmarena!

It was obvious what was going to be the winner from the start. However all three devices are all quite awesome and offer many different, awesome, and unique things which is a lot to say. That's where it does all come down to preference and need. If you want the best all a round you can get obviously the Note 3 delivers as Samsung has done good on that since the Omnia HD or even Omnia maybe. The G2 really delivers awesome in the LCD department and screen ratio. And of course photos and water resistance Z1.
A couple things though. The thing that urked me the most was the supposed below average of all three device...??????????????? When in the world were those below average scores??????? Especially 78db which is near the top?????
According to GSMArena review standard. There is Excellent, Good, Average, and Below Average.
According to recent reviews the Note3 score Good trailing not far from excellent,"I thought the other two did not either, but upon inspection did". The Z1 was shy of an average however and has good clarity enhancements. While the G2 is a step down from the G which actually scored an Excellent with 82.7.
There was also two tests where Z1 was placed second and it just seems like it should be first.
The G2 really does offer a neat feature with the volume and next to none bezel wise. However the whole "Perfect accuracy" screen is a lie. It is actually saturated. Particularly most in green. And we all expected more from the OIS. The video framing is a nightmare. Hopefully they release a good update for it though.
The Z1's X-Reality and Triluminous display is something I still cannot wait to try for myself. As well as what's working up to be the best Android camera. Definitely needs a software overhaul. Lets hope the update took a large step towards that. The fact that the all glass body on such a larger and heavy device came out nearly flawless on the exterior from a high drop is amazing.....but horrible that it stopped working....
The Note3. Has that Amoled. And regardless of what trolls like to say....Ironically especially that of LG and Sony fans who bash for saturation when LG and Sony saturate their screens. Not to mention fake blacks is no less in-acurate than punchy colors. But Samsung gives you natural modes. Even on their LCD devices you get the different precision and enhancement modes. And the S-Pen is amzing. That focus in low light needs tuning. They seem to have the software done so well and so finely tuned til that happens..Fix that and it really shines. Also the group plays features "weather useful or not to all" are really cool. And multi tasking to a whole new level as well as first 4k and usb 3.0 help.

AnonD-197387, 18 Oct 2013Who on earth said the Z1 battery life is poor?? Good lord, ... moreSorry but 6 hours for video or Web browsing for the Z1 is average. The GN3 is around double that.... Plus it has a replaceable battery!
