My point is that touchwiz and what ever Lg's skin name is heavy and a UI should be rated on smoothness and ease of use and in the case of the LG and Samsung there ui's are to heavy and bog down the system they do not come close to the new Sense ,motorola's ui nor Sony's ui when it comes to smoothness out of the box that was my point cause i'm wondering how do you deduct points from the smoothest and easiest ui in this comparison without mentioning that out of the box the Sony's ui is the smoothest and easiest to use.

Sony skins is light but not means it is pure smooth. Sorry to said Sony is not as smooth as you though.
I use Z and Z Ultra (same S800 spec) before and holding Tablet Z now, I know how it perform.
Note 3 and G2 is not as you though that lag, if you said S4, S III is lag, I agree, but not the Note 3 or G2.
Z1 won't be my choice due to it bad display quality, I had enough with lousy Z - TN screen quality, not interesting jump back to slightly better VA panel use in Z1.

IT DOES NOT LAG!
After you replace the stock contacts, dialer and messaging apps, that is.
Those are the only areas where you will notice the MINISCULE lag and only when you first open those apps.
Now, upon replacing those apps, I enjoy a complete smoothness with speed and stability that is ever again putting a smile on my face.
In two weeks the device haven't had a single hang or stutter or even an application freeze.
I've tried many phones, even the iPhone and WP, but the smoothness of this device blows them all away effortlessly.

The only phones that haven't shown lag are the Z1 and the Htc one and that's a fact all the bloatware Samsung and Lg packs into there skins take a toll on any processor even the S800 which tells any one that both Samsung and Lg needs to revisit there skins.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeJZJoVaSHI don't ever go around saying the note 3 doesn't lag or stutter cause as you can see the s600 one max clearly is more smooth than the s800 note 3.

A great phone shall be in balance in every spec.
Z1 is a good phone, but Z1 impossible to rank no. 1, it is well seat in no. 3, GSMArena is well review it and no biased.

I had play all phones and own one of it, the smoothness among 3 is similarity, all smooth, the only lose is pure smoothness in iPhone 5s.
But for android, this 3 phones is doing pretty great and awesome already.

I notice all Sony lover here can only said how about the camera, how about the camera? Why? Simply because Z1 got great camera, the rest is lose to Note 3 and G2.
A great device shall balance in every part not the camera only. Sony Z1 is not well balance, poor display among the rest, too thick bezel with too big phone body size but only capable to pack in 5" panel. Some more they is too little features and user friendly customization compare with another 2.
As for waterproof, it is a plus but not really useful in reality, I am ex owner of Xperia Z and Z Ultra and still holding the Tablet Z. Beside 1st time I do try fun with water on Z as still fresh to me, after that, it really not important, have or not is just a minor important spec.
In general for balancing, they is no way Z1 be top among Note 3 and G2.

How come Samsung isn't covered on this site for the regional locks on a device ppl are paying over $800 for, or the fact that rooting trips the knox security feature and voids your warranty? The Z1 is way to big for a 5inch screen and Sony needs to pack a better display on there flagships. If only Htc didn't go the route with the 4 ultrapixel crap and had put a good 8MP cam in the one and a card slot with the s800 I know this outcome here would be different.

[deleted post]What were you hoping for? The Xperia Z1 unrealistically coming on top? Sony needs to catch up on battery performance and better features. Looks are there, but unimpressed with how mediocre the Xperia lineup is in actual performance compared with competition.
Of course we are entitled to our own opinions, even wrong ones. What GSM Arena has presented here was fair enough. Each device have their merits and demerits. We have our own right to choose what we need, even with the superficial feeling of having a premium looking device as status.

how about taking picture & video while raining / under water? and i just wondering what if sony add 1 GB Ram ...
from my view point, Note 3, G2, Z1 hade plus and minus. for people love traveling and outdor activity, Z1 probably the best phone, for bussiness activity Note 3 is the best, and for capturing moving image / video G2 is the best option.
expendable storage is a must for me.

The most fair comparison I ever seen.
No regret pick-up my favor choice - Samsung Galaxy Note 3. :)
In summary, my own opinion, no offence or bashing.
1st - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (My 1st choice recommendation as well)
2nd - LG G2 (this is 2nd phone I recommended for people surrounding me that don't want too big phone)
3rd - Sony Xperia Z1 (It is a good phone, but too many drawback especially the display which most important to me, I never recommended this to anyone, I know it camera is the best, but others ain't bad also, so I don't see any value point to recommended this)

Its ok to be second place (or third) to the Note 3.
Given that a lot of the results are based on tests its a little hard to argue against.
NOTE 3 IS KING... but the other 2 aren't bad either.

Would someone want to explain why the video playing and websurfing time of Z1 lags so much behind Samsung and LG? battery capacity is about the same in all three.

I'm really a proud owner of the Note 3 after reading this review, it shows that no other manufacturer can get close to the almighty Note 3!
