AnonD-114277, 23 Mar 2015Why rush this article in without using a production version... moreWhat makes you think the cameras shld be benchmarked against the Sony RX-100 Mk3?
Maybe the Galaxy Note 4 turns out to be even better than the Sony RX-100 and the rest?

FrankDrebin, 23 Mar 2015Where is the Z3? lolZ3 is nowhere in the league.
If you say BMW Z3 maybe there's some competition with other marques. Sony cannot compare in so many aspects.

Why rush this article in without using a production version of the SGS6?
Why not wait a little longer for the HTC One M9 to be available?
And more importantly, why not use a $800 Sony RX-100 Mk3 as a the benchline to review all photos against for any of these comparisons. For all we know, color reproduction is wrong, as are other details. Without an actual pro-consumer camera for reference, we can't evaluate with our eyes just how good or bad the line up of smartphone cameras is.
Please, don't rush, re-do this camera comparison when the SGS6 and HTC1M9 is available, along with a pro-consumer point and shoot like the RX100M3.

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2015iPhone 6+ does have OIS in video as wellExtracted from: http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_6_plus-review-1142p10.php
"Looking at the field of view of the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 it's evident that Apple is not tasking the OIS unit to stabilize the video capture, relying instead completely on the digital Cinematic Video Stabilization."

You guys are underestimating GSMArena, I'm sure they are working on a shootout between all the camera phones that tout "the next best camera" mantra.
This is an intergalactic shootout, which in layman's terms, means a shootout between the "Galaxy" devices. Only Samsung have a Galaxy series of devices, hence the play on the name, "inter-galactic" (between the Galaxies).
Come'on guys, tell me you understood that much.
This article in no way intended to have a cross platform shootout. I'm sure that's in the works, like it is every year.
The iPhone 6 is included as its the primary competitor for the Galaxy series, especially the new S6 (which, lets admit it, is the reason we have this article in the first place).
It's important for potential and current iPhone buyers to see this comparison, as this is the device they will most likely be pitting up against while deciding.
I just hope the image processing algorithm gets updated in the global release firmware. There is no reason to reduce the sharpness through software when the hardware has been upgraded. This will negate the benefits of the upgrade, especially seeing as the new lower aperture lens coupled with lower ISO shots all exhibit less grain and noise in the S6 when compared to the Note 4. This lesser noise would exhibit less noise and artifacts than the Note 4 does once sharpened to the same level (as there will be less noise and artifacts captured by the S6 in the first place).
Less noise in = Less noise out.
Lastly, it is impossible to tell whether the S6's lens is sharper or not until using the same image processing algorithms, or using a third party app which bypasses this processing differences (if that's possible).

So Samsung is copying Apple's image processing now. What a surprise.... no more super sharpened neon colors from Samsung now. Don't worry, LG haven't jump on the copy Apple bandwagan yet so you can still get ugly Samsung processing from LG.
