Why this phone is so heavy? It's like carrying brick in your pocket. In fact I don't understand why last generation of phones from almost all manufacturers (except LG) are so heavy without any justified reason? Is it a new idiotic trend just like removing of 3.5 mm jack?

But always keep the phone charged over 40% to get maximum durability (not battery endurance in a measured period) out of your Battery. They say Lithium iON battery can give up to 800 charge cycles, but ofcourse it differs with various outputs from various chargers.

TheNE1GHB0R, 16 Sep 201789 hours endurance time for the Note8, versus 90 hours for ... moreYou don't get it. This is a fake image. Samsung has almost completely killed parallelism this gen around.
They manage those battery performance by almsot completely killing background processes, killing one of the main advantages of android.
I'm trying for years to make GSMarena see that proper speed tests should take in account background apps, because while Note 8 is reloading an app for the nth time a phone with an actually big battery doesn't, rendering it far faster (in practive) than Note 8.
All those benchs tests do is to paint a false image... S8 and Note 8 are the slowest phones this gen and are in fact slower than most flagships of 2016 ... someone has to finally say this instead of lauding the quickness that said slowness produce...
In short, yes you have more batter life than expected, but you do less than expected in that time too as disproprotionally more time is loading screens...

@GSMArena team - two misses I found in the review -
1) On/Off toggle for nav bar was added to S8 duo much b4 Note 8 announcement via software update. July I think I received it for my S8.
2) Edge lighting may not require the device to lie face down. Edge lighting has evolved to light up all 4 sides as a narrow strip of light along edges. This was out of box on S8. Samsung added customisation settings with last update to change thickness of the strip and color.

AnonD-701035, 16 Sep 2017Samsung has optimized the battery and performance of the No... moreIf you had monitored and documented your S8+'s battery from the very start, you'll see that battery stamina is great during the first month. Just like my Note7's first 30 days could get to 8 hours SOT if I push the battery to its limits:
http://flic.kr/p/SVT5fX
Eventually, that battery will lose some 20% of its initial stamina, and you end up with 4 to 5 hours of SOT medium mixed use. Comment back after a month.

AnonD-701035, 16 Sep 2017Apple is charging $105 dollars to enable fast charging and ... moreApple doesn't have true fast charging even, they just ask you to use an old trick by buying iPad or MacBook charger to force more current into the battery, obviously not good for battery. Everyone saying about quick charge 2 or 3 must not forget that Samsung is the only brand to provide fast wireless charging which is as fast as cable charging.

In Mi mix I keep all in memory *and* have a better battery, *and* smaller bezels... Only issue is the bad camera but I don't care (own mirrorless that absolutely kills any mobile camera, being equally mobile as a phone).

I'm upgrading from the note 5, so happy its getting great reviews! but I need to know are the audio quality results from the exynos version or the snapdragon? This was the only thing that was making me consider the lg v30 but after reading about the quality issues with the OLED display I was hoping the note 8 would perform well and it does. :)

I'm honestly beginning to hate GSMArena Camera reviews. You just don't angle the camera towards the sky to test, that will make the worst mobile camera usable cause it will force light right in, and it's not practical in day to day life. Camera Samples should have at least one sample with distant buildings or objects for us the enthusiasts to check the dynamic range the details. one auto, one manually tuned, and one HDR. Night Sample from the same scene and a long exposure shot from the same scene are welcome too.

I personally feel like samsung should make a stock android phone with their exynos chipset and 1080p 5.5" display and everything else from s8. That could be a great phone IMO. I'm not a samsung fan. I would love to see that happen. That could steal the show single handedly.. This is just my opinion..
