I'm seriously consider to buy this, but for me thermal throttle is the most serious cons.
Since, for a long time (like 1/2 years), phone function(such as GPS, CPU performance, etc) can degrade significantly if thermal management is bad.
I also confuse about dual GPS, since techtablets.com said that it was a joke.. GPS performance of this mi 8 is awful.
is somebody already using it??

stunning camera image quality a close competitor to galaxy flagships and the audio quality also taken care of, well not bad.

Honestly disappointing phone compared to how much the mi 6 was a better in every way than the mi 5.
I'm completely against omitting features that some people may be reliant on.

Rear camera result is solid in both good and low light, even better than S9+, which I consider the best phone camera at this point, even better than P20 Pro.

Very interested in this phone or SE version. But need sone advice how much RAM do I need? 4/6 gb? Now I play PUGB in mi 5 3gb RAM and its still enough. Please advice guys.

Compared to the Mi Max 2, this has small screen, poor battery life, no sd card slot, no headphone jack, no ir blaster, no FM radio. The only thing it has that the Mi Max 2 doesn't have is the notch and a flagship processor that's only good for bragging rights but no practical use for the majority of phone users who use their phones for Facebook and media consumption.

antutu268.5k, same as my one plus
camera is better than s8plus (thats only good camera i can compare) and way above one plus 6 , one plus smells budget in every pic, same is the video details.
cons:
no headphone jack
amoled (i prefer lcd)
terrible audio recording (hope that fixes with miui 10)
and ugly iphone x design,
i am using this over s8 plus and one plus 6 because of miui, it offers best standby time in any android by far which is important to me , also stock is boring.
what i regret
i could have purchased lg v30 fro about 80 dollars cheaper , that would be more versatile phone.

I think benchmark test for mi8 not that low for the sd 845 chipset. Maybe the unit that editor testing using custom rom software unstabble. i saw on youtube, mi8 tested average got more than 250k.

Five cons in one bullet?!
This phone is simply forgettable no thanks to all of the omissions.
At least it got the notch though. It helps me remember to just ignore this phone more.
