Dan, 02 Feb 2019The new budget king! A bit of a nitpick: 999 yuan = 129 ... moreThat's the price in China or other county where it's manufactured. If you buy it in EU €150 is generally correct, I expect similar price tag or maybe a bit more. And that's for basic version of course.

Awesome phone, but i need 128GB, so i hope the pro version will not only offer this option, but won't have any disadvantages over this one (Unlike Note 5, which had worse sound quality over Redmi 5 plus).

Xiaomi really did a huge leap with this smartphone and I hope all its smartphones are as stellar or even better than the note 7 but the only downsides are the too many ads ( they should at least decrease them ) , improve stoftware stability and the lack of NFC ( people in Europe , US and other countries need it ).

Those native 48MP pictures have a very upscaled look to them, which seems to suggest that the sensor is either really not impressive, or that it simply cannot function properly without a lot of computational influence...

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2019How about the ad-filled OS? It's like everyone is forget ab... moreThey probably know how to turn off recommendations in Security Xiaomi app (also in 3-4 more pre-installed Xiaomi app like downloads, music, file manager). Also, i bet they don't set region to India, so that is that.. No more ads, you sould also try it, it takes less time, than writing comennt like yours.
But, i agree, ads is not good, because we get that in every app from playstore, anyway.
Last but not least, and just for record. Samsung with 8.1 Oreo (also with Pie), and with Samsung Experince 9.5 (great skin) also have adds, even on lock screen (every time differente when we wake phone via pover button, not with fingerprint scaner), also, My Galaxy, Samsung stock app is full of ads, so i guess thats how OEMs make (even more) money from customers.

Thanks for review GSMA guys.
As expected, very promising but not all perfect device -from my point especialy camera capabilities are not that balanced and still could use some improvements... don't mean night shots though, those seem great for midranger. Other is okay: great build, sound, display will be fine to use although not excellent in theory. SD660 and USB-C is a must for this phone. To put it short: I will wait for RN7 Pro or X (whatever named better Redmi model/s), M20, M30 with different cameras and possible AMOLED to be reviewed and THEN it is real competition and time to make decision. It will take some time until those will be available worldwide anyway...

"Sure, the Redmi Note 7 is a great all-rounder, but we can't just lightly ignore the offerings from Huawei, Honor, Samsung and even Realme."
Mi8 Lite: "the Redmi Note 7 takes the lead with more premium glass build, better battery life and more capable camera"
Honor/Huawei: "it's really hard to recommend those two over the Redmi Note 7 as they can't really compete..."
Motorola's only advantage: stock Android
Samsung's only advantage: Amoled
So yes, we can ignore what the competition offers in this price range. The Redmi Note 7 has no equivalent.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2019How about the ad-filled OS? It's like everyone is forget ab... moreEven I find it surprising that ad-filled OS doesn't get a prominent mention in reviews. I hope it doesn't become the norm for all manufacturers. Review sites should highlight this 'ad' annoyance be it any smartphone manufacturer so we don't start taking it for granted.
