Xperia 1's battery is in line with the other phones. And considering it has many more pixels to run, it's an achievement.
Xperia 1 has the world's 1st oled 4k display, alongside a camera to record in cinema quality 4k. These are features ONLY the Xperia 1 has.

For me the camera quality is the most important thing on a high-end $1000 or above smartphone, second one is design, third one is features and the last one is performance. So if the camera is crap like on Xperia 1 (with current software / firmware version), I will never buy it even for a half price. Can't understand stupidity of brand fan boys.

Xperia 1 clearly have best detail in photo, they don't the detail to lost texture, that's why those competitor take "plastic" photo.

Denis Thomas, 20 Jun 2019Well I have Sony phones all my life, and never encountered ... moreI've own a lot of Sony flagship phones, since Ericsson days, S & Z series, including the Z5 (Last Xperia i've use). Its cooler than other SD810 device because equipped with heatpipe, but hotter compare to other flagship chip. U dont notice it because just stick with that phone.
Switch to Honor 8 Pro. I'm surprise it surpass my Z5 almost in every aspects. Pricing ($450 at launch), camera quality (surpass all my previous Xperia, be it on daylight & lowlight), battery life a lot lot better (4000mah), 6gb ram, 64gb internal memory + sdcard slot, on a thin metal body, runs a lot cooler than my Z5.
Now own Mate 20 & plan to stick with Huawei as of now. Hate stock EMUI looks compare to Sony but love its feature. Therefore i've create Sony theme for EMUI device.

Experience. Its all that matters. I've gone through on both Sony & Huawei devices, thus knows exactly the differences but u just stick with Sony. Theres no doubt finally Xperia 1 is the best phone from Sony that can competes with other flagship (previous Xperia not worth for the price). And i dont want Sony to follow Huawei's vision, but make it better, in a Sony way.
The camera still not the top, battery still not the top, revive headphone jack, ditch the useless dynamic vibration that eats space. The rest of the specs is excellent already, especially its 4k OLED 21:9 display.

I had a Z5, beast of a phone. Could get warm but never overheated. My best friend has an M4 and it's 2 years old, and still has absolutely no issues.

Ev... moreI don't watch movie using my phone so... not a selling point for me, I watch on TV instead way bigger size and a lot better sound system lolness, i surf and read more when I'm on the move that's why the 8 web surfing time is terrible (in real life it use more battery than gsmarena test lab when you on the move so you can expect less than 8 hours.)

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2019These tests are done with Stamina turned OFF .... No one want to use with stamina turn on btw just to say, the phone i'm using now without stamina turn on last 2 days, previous one last 3 days but they are all on top of gsmarena battery chart.

Sony have their own approach/characteristic, you can see from the techs Eye tracking AF, Raw noise reduction, design, Side Sense UI... If it is not your (favorite) expectation base from a huawei's vison that does't mean it isn't a great phone!

I dont buy things by the brand, but for features i needed most, at the best price.
